Honor has expanded its smartphone portfolio in China with the launch of two new devices, the Honor Play 80 Pro and the Honor X80i. Both smartphones bring large 7,000mAh batteries, while targeting different segments with distinct chipsets and display technologies.
The Honor X80i is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6500 Elite processor and features an AMOLED panel, whereas the Honor Play 80 Pro comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and a TFT LCD display. Here’s more about both smartphones.
The Honor Play 80 Pro features a 6.8-inch HD+ TFT LCD display with a resolution of 720×1610 pixels, offering a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 850 nits peak brightness, support for 16.7 million colours, and aluminosilicate glass protection. The device comes with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, which includes six efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz and two performance cores reaching up to 2.3GHz. It is paired with MagicOS 9 based on Android 15, Adreno A619 GPU, up to 12GB RAM, and 256GB internal storage. The device is backed by a large 7,000mAh battery.
For photography, the Honor Play 80 Pro features a single 50-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and up to 8x digital zoom. On the front, it houses a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls. The phone supports video recording up to 1080p at 30fps.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo. It also comes with a range of sensors such as a gravity sensor, fingerprint sensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and accelerometer.
The handset measures 166.89 x 76.8 x 8.24mm and weighs around 207 grams.

The Honor Play 80 Pro is priced starting at CNY 1,899 (approximately Rs. 26,000) for the base 6GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 8GB + 256GB model is available at CNY 2,099 (around Rs. 28,000), while the top-end 12GB + 256GB variant costs CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 31,000).
The smartphone will be sold via the Honor online store in China. Although the exact sale date has not yet been announced. It is offered in Azure Sky, Black Phantom Night and White Moonlight colour options.

The Honor X80i features a 6.6-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,200×2,600 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 95 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display supports up to 6,500 nits peak brightness and 3,840Hz PWM dimming, and is protected by aluminosilicate glass.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6500 Elite chipset paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, offering up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage.
It is equipped with a 50-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. For selfies and video calls, it includes an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity options on the device include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS/A-GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, A-GNSS, NFC, OTG, and a USB Type-C port. It also includes sensors such as an accelerometer, infrared sensor, compass, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
The Honor X80i packs a 7,000mAh lithium-ion polymer battery with support for 45W wired charging along with wired reverse charging capability. It also carries an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance. The device measures 157.43 x 75.35 x 7.34mm and weighs 185 grams.

The Honor X80i starts at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs. 26,000) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB models are priced at CNY 2,199 (around Rs. 29,000), CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 33,000), and CNY 2,799 (approximately Rs. 37,000), respectively.
The smartphone is currently available for purchase in China in Flowing Sand Pink, Lime Green, Moon Shadow White and Obsidian Black colour options.
