Honor has introduced its Magic 9 lineup in China with the launch of the Honor Magic 9 and Honor Magic 9 Super Edition. Both phones feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 120Hz OLED displays, large batteries and IP68/IP69/IP69K protection. However, the Super Edition stands out with a massive 11,000mAh battery, while the standard Magic 9 offers a more camera-focused setup with dual 200MP rear cameras. Here are more details.

The Honor Magic 9 features a 6.37-inch OLED display with a 2664×1236 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports up to 10,000 nits peak brightness and 2,000 nits global peak brightness, along with 3,840Hz PWM dimming. It also has slim 0.95mm bezels.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It also gets Honor’s Yuguang H1 imaging chip and C3 RF enhancement chip. The phone runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17.
The Magic 9 packs an 8,000mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. For photography, it has a 55MP square front camera. At the back, there is a 200MP Samsung S5KHPE primary camera with OIS and CIPA 7.5 stabilisation, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 200MP Samsung S5KHP5 telephoto camera with OIS and CIPA 7.5 stabilisation.
Honor has added ARRI imaging features including an ARRI LogC3 video pipeline, Cinema Live and official ARRI Looks. The phone also supports the Honor G200 telephoto converter and a triple-LED array zoom flash.
Other features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, stereo dual speakers, a dedicated AI key and a camera button. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB Type-C, NFC and an IR blaster. The phone also carries IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. It measures 161.78 × 76.72 × 8.10mm and weighs 209 grams.

The Honor Magic 9 Super Edition comes with a larger 6.81-inch OLED display offering a 2788×1280 resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the standard model, it offers up to 10,000 nits peak brightness, 2,000 nits global peak brightness and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. The display has 1.03mm bezels.
The Super Edition is also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with Phantom Engine 3.0, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It also features Honor’s C3 RF enhancement chip and runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17.
Its biggest highlight is the 11,000mAh battery, which supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It also supports 27W wired reverse charging and wireless reverse charging.
For cameras, the phone has a 50MP OmniVision OV50M40 front camera. The rear setup consists of a 200MP Samsung S5KHP5 main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide macro camera with f/2.2 aperture and autofocus, and a 50MP Sony LYT-500 telephoto camera with OIS, 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
The Magic 9 Super Edition also gets an optical fingerprint scanner, dedicated AI key, stereo dual speakers, two microphones and an X-axis linear motor. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB Type-C, NFC and an IR blaster. It has IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings and measures 161.78 × 76.72 × 8.10mm while weighing 227 grams.

The Honor Magic 9 starts at 4,999 yuan (around Rs 63,800) for the 12GB+256GB variant. The 12GB+512GB model costs 5,499 yuan (around Rs 70,200), while the 16GB+512GB version is priced at 5,999 yuan (around Rs 76,600). The top-end 16GB+1TB model costs 6,999 yuan (around Rs 89,300).
The phone is available in Popcorn Yellow, Curtain Black, Opening White and Olive Green.
