HMD Global has introduced a rugged smart feature phone, the HMD Terra M. It is specifically engineered for organisations operating in demanding, high-risk environments and it joins the company’s HMD Secure lineup. This series of HMD phones focuses on secure, durable, and reliable mobility solutions. The new launch comes shortly after the debut of the European-built HMD Ivalo XE, further strengthening HMD Secure’s mission-critical device portfolio. Anyhow, here’s everything you need to know about the phone.
The Terra M features a compact 2.8-inch touchscreen that is glove-friendly, a high-output loudspeaker, and dedicated programmable keys for Push to Talk and emergency functions. It runs enterprise-ready software enabling fast deployment, pre-loaded enterprise apps, and easy integration with Mobile Device Management systems.
HMD Founder and CEO Jean-François Baril said the arrival of the Terra M and Ivalo XE reinforces the company’s vision to deliver “secure, resilient and sovereign mobility solutions” suited for mission-critical use.
Built to endure extreme conditions, the HMD Terra M is compliant with MIL-STD-810H standards and carries both IP68 and IP69K certifications. It can survive drops from heights of up to 1.8 metres. The device supports 4G, VoLTE, VoWi-Fi, hotspot mode, NFC, dual SIM, and eSIM connectivity.
It is powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing QCM2290 chipset and promises five years of quarterly security updates from its global release date. The phone also offers up to 10 days of standby time thanks to optimised power management.

HMD has also introduced mission-ready accessories for the Terra M, including a stackable charging cradle capable of powering up to 10 devices simultaneously. It is a rugged belt-clip holster for quick access during field tasks or shift-based operations.
The Terra M will be available in Q1 2026 through HMD Secure and select partners, the company confirmed. As for pricing, reports suggest it will be region-specific and may vary by market. Proper availability will be announced closer to launch.
