HMD Global is reportedly gearing up to unveil its next modular smartphone, the HMD Fusion 2. This will succeed the original HMD Fusion launched earlier this year. Fresh leaks have now surfaced online, revealing early details about the phone’s upgraded features, design innovations, and expected specifications. Here’s what we know based on the latest leaks.
Tipster HMD Meme on X (formerly Twitter) recently revealed some key details about the upcoming HMD Fusion 2 in a couple of posts.
In terms of hardware, X posts suggest that the HMD Fusion 2 will feature a 6.58-inch OLED display with Full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, marking a substantial performance boost over the previous model. When it comes to cameras, the Fusion 2 could pack a 108MP primary sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens, promising better clarity and versatility in photography.
Additional features reportedly include dual stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.3, an IP65 dust and water resistance rating, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

According to a separate HMD Meme post, the upcoming HMD Fusion 2 will debut Smart Outfits Gen 2 and an upgraded Pogo Pin 2.0 connector. To recall, Smart Outfits are modular accessories that attach to the back of the device via smart pins, allowing users to expand functionality or customise the phone’s look and feel.

However, these new accessories reportedly won’t be compatible with the first-generation HMD Fusion. So, owners of the earlier model may not be able to reuse their existing Smart Outfits.
It is important to note that HMD Global is yet to make an official announcement about this particular device. But since we now have leaks emerging, we can expect a proper teaser from the brand soon.
