If recent rumours are to be believed, Google is set to launch a more petite version of its top-end Pixel smartphone this year.
The Pixel 9 Pro has now been spotted in some leaked hands-on photos, giving us our first proper glimpse at the downsized flagship device.
The leaked snaps show the Pixel 9 Pro positioned next to an iPhone 15 Pro.
From the images, it appears Google has managed to make their premium phone a touch smaller than Apple’s compact model.
The pictures also reveal a fresh camera design that protrudes quite noticeably compared to previous Pixels.
Gone is the distinctive “visor” look from older Pixel phones.
Instead, the 9 Pro opts for a more traditional camera bump in an oval shape that doesn’t stretch to the edges.
The device has a sleek flat metal frame too.
Under the hood, the 9 Pro is tipped to pack Google’s latest Tensor G4 chip and a hefty 16GB of RAM from Micron – that’s 4GB more than the standard Pro model.
It should also boast blazing-fast UFS storage tech courtesy of Samsung.
By the sounds of it, Google hasn’t cut any corners on the internal specs.
Reports suggest the new flagship will come equipped with Samsung’s Exynos Modem 5400 as well, enabling satellite connectivity for the first time on a Pixel phone.
Another notable design change is the Pixel 9 Pro’s more rounded corners compared to prior models.
As for the display, it seems we can expect slim bezels with a centralised punch-hole for the selfie cam.
More details are likely to emerge soon as the launch draws nearer.
But these initial leaks point to the Pixel 9 Pro being a powerful yet pocketable offering from Google.
