Google Pixel 10 leak suggests base Pixel 10 may skip vapour chamber cooling, potentially affecting thermal performance during gaming or heavy use.
- While it might gain a telephoto lens, the main sensor could be downgraded in size.
- Features like Ultra Res Zoom may remain Pro-only.
The Google Pixel 10 series is one of the most anticipated Android flagship launches. However, some recent leaks have suggested that the standard Pixel 10 might come with a few letdowns. Despite expected improvements in performance and cameras, Google may once again cut corners with cooling.

No Vapour Chamber for Pixel 10?
According to a new report from AndroidHeadlines, the base Pixel 10 could skip vapour chamber cooling, a feature that helps manage heat during intense use. This would be similar to last year’s Pixel 9, which also missed out on this tech. In contrast, the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL both had vapour chambers to help keep temperatures under control.
It’s surprising that Google might leave out such a key feature on a flagship model, especially with the Tensor chip getting more powerful every year. A vapour chamber is almost expected at this point, so this decision, if true, could impact long-term performance during gaming or heavy multitasking.
More Compromises on the Pixel 10?
This isn’t the first compromise we’re hearing about. A recent leak shared the full camera specs of the Pixel 10 lineup. While the standard model is tipped to finally get a telephoto lens, its main camera sensor is reportedly getting downgraded from a larger 1/1.31-inch sensor to a smaller 1/1.95-inch sensor.
There’s more. The Pixel 10 is also expected to miss out on newer camera features like “Ultra Res Zoom” and ultra-stable video recording, which are likely to be exclusive to the Pro models.
Apart from this, the Android Headlines report also mentions the omission of WiFi 7 support in the Pixel 10. This is a bit surprising since the Google Pixel 9 lists WiFi 7 in the specifications, even though the Google Pixel 9a does not have WiFi 7 support.
With launch still a few months away, there is a chance that some of these details might change.
