Google India MD appointed as IAMAI chairman, Facebook India MD as vice chairman

Google India Vice President and Managing Director Sanjay Gupta has been elected as the chairman of industry body IAMAI for the period 2021-23. He succeeds Amazon Senior Vice President and India Country Manager Amit Agarwal.

Facebook India Vice President and Managing Director Ajit Mohan is the new Vice Chairman of the Internet and Mobile Association of India, succeeding Yatra.com Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dhruv Shringi.

Fintech startup Razorpay’s CEO and Co-Founder Harshil Mathur has been appointed as the Treasurer of the association and succeeds Satyan Gajwani, Vice Chairman of Times Internet.

Talking about his appointment, Sanjay Gupta said, “Connecting over a billion Indians to the opportunities, the Internet can empower businesses, scale access to education, healthcare and drive financial inclusions in the country. As a country, India has made tremendous progress and has proven the ability to deliver towards this vision. Razorpay’s Harshil Mathur said, “Sixteen months ago, there was very little attention paid to financial inclusion of small and medium businesses, the underserved economy.
