But it turns out every positive comes with its own set of negatives for us to deal with. Because OnePlus Nord 4’s metal design is also what makes repairing the device extra challenging. A teardown by PBKReviews shows just how tough it is to get inside the Nord 4. The video highlights that the metal back, which contributes to the phone's sturdiness, is extremely difficult to remove, complicating access to the internal components. The screen is especially tricky to replace, earning a low score of 0.5/2, similar to the score for the phone’s internal layout. Availability of parts, battery replacement ease, and replacing other small components each scored a 1/2, leading to an overall repairability score of 4 out of 10. Even removing the top glass cover proved challenging, despite initial success with a plastic tool. The metal back, however, required the use of metal tools, increasing the risk of scratches or dents on the sleek aluminium surface.
