Elon Musk has just introduced a new messaging feature called XChat and it’s packed with tools designed to make your digital conversations more private and secure. The 53-year-old billionaire is now looking beyond tweets as he continues building his vision of the “everything app” inside X (formerly Twitter). In a post on X, Musk announced the new chat feature.
All new XChat is rolling out with encryption, vanishing messages and the ability to send any kind of file. Also, audio/video calling.
This is built on Rust with (Bitcoin style) encryption, whole new architecture.

XChat is a brand-new messaging feature built right into the X app. It’s designed to give users a safer, more flexible way to communicate, going head-to-head with popular chat apps like WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram.
It comes with end-to-end encryption, vanishing messages, calls without phone numbers and more.
