We are sharing below our experience after spending a considerable amount of time with the device and testing the phone for relevant standards. So, let’s start with the basics. We had the Sale Green version, which looks good. The back finish changes colour tone when held at different angles. This completely defines how the phone looks. At just 7.8mm, the brand is claiming it to be the slimmest 5G phone you will come across in this price range. Can’t say much about the claim, but we did notice the difference. The phone slips easily into your pocket and even after holding it for a while, it doesn’t feel bulky or heavy. It feels comfortable in hand. The new “Wooow Cube” camera module at the back is unique. Whether you like it or not is subjective, we think it is definitely something different. However, we were only starting to like the camera module until we kept the phone on a desk and noticed how it wobbles way too much. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Plus, it’s P54 splash-proof, which adds a bit of peace of mind. Overall, design-wise the Hot 50 5G balances style and functionality well! While it could have been an immersive experience, the large bottom bezel of the phone hinders that. The phone does come with a 93.90% screen-to-body ratio if that helps. The phone gives you an option to switch between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz refresh rates and has a 240Hz touch sampling rate. However, we did face touch response issues at times with this phone. Brightness-wise, it goes up to 500 nits. We tried to use the phone outdoors and it is easily viewable outdoors. However, you can’t expect this to perform smoothly under direct sunlight even though the brightness adjustment feature at times helps adapt to different lighting conditions. The dynamic bar at the top is also a good addition and surely another highlight you will feel when using the phone. It makes navigation just a bit smoother and more intuitive. The phone handles basic functions fast without any hiccups. We also didn’t face any issues with multitasking or switching between apps. We put the phone through some tests and it faired well in almost all benchmarks. Moreover, this one comes with TUV SUD A-Level fluency certification. This means the phone will stay as fast as it is now for the next five years. How much this claim holds is a question for the future, but this is reassuring.
