There appears to be a midsummer tech treat for us as the Mountain View-based tech giant has sent out invites for an event on 13 August. What's on the menu? Google has confirmed the launch of Pixel 9 series and Pixel Watch 3 on August 13th, which is two months ahead of the usual October launch What does Google have in the pot for us this time? Well, the search giant says it's all ready to give a look at "the best of Google AI, Android software and the Pixel portfolio of devices." That sounds quite full for me and really should not come much as a surprise, considering their involvement with AI. The company is said to introduce a new Pixel Watch 3 XL model Unlike last time, when we had to wait until the Made by Google event held in October, bringing a Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2, that's not the case now. This year, it seems they are going to jump the gun a couple of months in advance. May it be that we are going to get the full-on look at the Pixel 9 lineup and perhaps a Pixel Watch 3? Well, the rumour mill is certainly churning, and here is what has been leaked so far. The Pixel 9 Family: Something for Everyone? Pixel 9 and the Google Watch 3, the company could also launch Android 15 at the event Not just one, not two—three Pixel 9 models could be in the offing. Rumours doing the rounds are actually hinting at a standard Pixel 9 and a Pixel 9 Pro—hold your breath—a smaller Pixel 9 Pro. Finally, Google is able to hear from us, those who want features from flagships without hand-stretching sizes? And for those big dreamers among you, well, there's even a possible Pixel 9 Pro Fold in the offing. The Pixel Watch 3 is expected to retain the 1.2-inch screen The Pixel Watch 3 is also being heavily rumoured to make an appearance. The company had made some amends with the Watch 2 regarding its battery life and connectivity. Looks like some AI magic might be in the offing soon enough on Google's wearable lineup. Everything should clear up in due time. AI: Star of the Show? Google will livestream the event on YouTube and the Google Store website. What everybody's waiting for, of course, is that elephant in the room: AI. Google has been full-on with AI, and this event could have been their chance to flex the muscles of how it'll work with new hardware. We might finally get treated to some of those really fancy Android 15 AI features, like expanded Circle-to-search, real-time scam alerts, and TalkBack. You never know what other AI tricks they've got up their sleeve. Google's Odd Timing The company is expected to introduce a new Pixel 9 XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, successor to the Pixel Fold is also expected. Now, this is where things get interesting. Google has really been keeping us on our feet with these product launches this year. Remember how everyone thought the Pixel 8a was going to make an appearance at I/O? Nope, they dropped it a week before. Now, they're moving up their flagship launch by two months? It's a head-scratcher, for sure. On one hand, it could be a smart move to keep the hype train rolling. On the other, didn't they just release the Pixel 8a? Won't an early Pixel 9 launch steal some thunder from their budget-friendly option? Apparently, there are a lot of questions and too little in the way of answers.
