Apple has announced the launch of a limited edition accessory, the iPhone Pocket, for iPhone users. The newly launched accessory takes inspiration from the classic iPod sock and transforms the idea into a modern, wearable accessory. It is created in collaboration with the Issey Miyake design studio, the team behind Steve Jobs’ famous black turtleneck.
Speaking on the launch, Yoshiyuki Miyamae, design director of MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, said, “The design of iPhone Pocket reflects the bond between iPhone and its user, while keeping in mind that an Apple product is designed to be universal in aesthetic and versatile in use. iPhone Pocket explores the concept of ‘the joy of wearing iPhone in your own way.’ The simplicity of its design echoes what we practice at ISSEY MIYAKE — the idea of leaving things less defined to allow for possibilities and personal interpretation.”

Commenting on the launch, Molly Anderson, Apple’s Vice President of Industrial Design, said, “Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE share a design approach that celebrates craftsmanship, simplicity, and delight. Described as “a piece of cloth,” the iPhone Pocket combines Issey Miyake’s pleated design philosophy with Apple’s design expertise. The result is a unique and versatile product. Its 3D-knitted structure, made in Japan, allows it to securely hold any iPhone model along with other small everyday essentials.
The iPhone Pocket is made from a stretchable fabric that not only protects the device but also lets users peek at the screen without removing the phone completely. It’s designed to be worn or carried in multiple ways. It can be attached to a handbag, worn over the shoulder, or around the wrist, depending on user preference.

The accessory comes in two strap versions. The short strap model is available in lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black colour options.

Apple has confirmed that the iPhone Pocket is a limited edition release with restricted availability. It will be showcased in select Apple Store locations. The product will go on sale starting Friday, November 14, across France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the U.S., both in stores and via apple.com.
The short strap variant is priced at USD 149.95 (approximately Rs. 13,280), while the long strap version costs USD 229.95 (approximately Rs. 20,365).
