Apple Might Be Working On A New Sky Blue Colour Variant For iPhone 17 Pro

Highlights

  • Apple is reportedly testing a Sky Blue variant for the iPhone 17 Pro.
  • Leaker Majin Bu suggests it could be the standout colour for the September 2025 launch.
  • Sky Blue was recently introduced with the M4 MacBook Air, which makes it unusual for Apple to offer the same new colour for both Mac and iPhone in the same year.

There’s a new rumour making the rounds revealing that the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro could come in a Sky Blue colour. While plenty of leaks have already revealed details about the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, colour options have mostly stayed under wraps until now.

Leaker Majin Bu has shared that Apple is testing out Sky Blue for the iPhone 17 Pro.

On his website, he says, “Sources close to the supply chain confirm that several iPhone 17 Pro prototypes have been made in various colours, with Sky Blue currently the frontrunner. In prototypes, it reportedly looks even more stunning than the much-loved Sierra Blue of the iPhone 13 Pro, with a brightness and refinement that make it irresistible. Unless Apple changes course at the last minute, this will be the star of the September 2025 launch event.”

Majin Bu has a decent track record when it comes to Apple leaks especially recently, though not all of his predictions have been spot-on.

What makes this even more interesting is that Sky Blue was just introduced with the M4 MacBook Air. It’s not very common for Apple to launch the same new colour on both Mac and iPhone in the same year. But if the colour has been a hit on the MacBook Air, it could be a smart move to bring that excitement to the iPhone lineup too.

Usually, Apple sticks to a few standard grey tones for its iPhone Pro models with just one special colour that changes each year. Last year, that was Desert Titanium and it appears this time, it could be Sky Blue stealing the show.
