Apple has officially taken the curtains off its next-generation wireless earbuds, the AirPods Pro 3. The latest generation AirPods was the first device to be unveiled at its much-anticipated ‘Awe dropping’ event, which also marked the debut of the iPhone 17 lineup.
The new AirPods Pro bring several notable upgrades, making them Apple’s most advanced earbuds yet.
In the press release, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus said, “With AirPods Pro 3, the most popular headphones take a massive leap forward, providing fantastic sound quality and the world’s best ANC of any in-ear wireless headphones. Combined with an improved fit that provides greater stability for even more people, heart rate sensing, extended battery life, and Live Translation enabled by Apple Intelligence, AirPods Pro 3 take personal audio to the next level.”
The AirPods Pro 3 are priced at $249, the same as the previous AirPods Pro 2. Pre-orders are live starting today, September 9.
The earbuds will begin shipping on September 19.

Apple is finally addressing a long-requested feature by AirPods users with foam-style ear tips. Until now, many relied on third-party options, but with the launch of AirPods Pro 3 at the ‘Awe Dropping’ event, Apple has officially introduced foam-infused ear tips designed to improve both comfort and noise isolation.
The new ear tips feature a thin layer of soft foam fused with a silicone shell, creating a hybrid design. Apple says this not only enhances comfort but also serves as an additional insulator, boosting the effectiveness of the 2x stronger Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) in the AirPods Pro 3.
Apple explained. “Using advanced computational audio to remove more noise around you than ever, AirPods Pro 3 let you zone in (or out) when you need to. And five all-new ear tips — including an XXS option — fuse a thin layer of soft foam to the silicone shell to give you even better acoustic performance.”
Unlike previous generations that included three sizes (S, M, L), the AirPods Pro 3 now ship with five ear tip sizes – XXS, XS, S, M, and L. This expansion ensures a more personalised and secure fit for a wider range of users.
Apple is offering a standalone 5-pair pack of ear tips for $14.99, while two sets of the XXS tips are available for $9.99. However, the new foam-infused ear tips are exclusive to AirPods Pro 3 and are not compatible with previous AirPods Pro models.
With these updates, Apple is positioning the AirPods Pro 3 as more than just premium wireless earbuds. They are also shaping up to be a health and productivity tool, bridging the gap between fitness tracking, communication, and immersive audio.
