Apple has officially rolled out its Fitness+ subscription service in India, expanding the availability of its health and wellness platform to a new market. Apple Fitness+ is designed to support users in achieving their fitness goals through guided workouts, personalised plans, and real-time performance tracking via the Apple Fitness app. With this launch, the service is now accessible in a total of 49 countries worldwide.

According to Apple, Fitness+ supports up to 12 different workout and activity categories. These include meditation, strength training, yoga, kickboxing, cycling, and mindful cooldown sessions. Workout episodes range in length from five minutes to 45 minutes, making it easier for users to fit exercise into their daily routines.
While the service can be used with an iPhone, users can enhance the experience by pairing it with an Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3. This allows real-time tracking of key metrics such as heart rate, calories burned, and Activity Rings progress during workouts.
Through the Apple Fitness+ app, users can create personalised workout schedules. They can choose from pre-designed fitness plans and modify them as needed, or build fully customised plans based on preferred activities, workout duration, selected trainers, and days of the week.
The app also integrates with Apple Music, enabling users to listen to energetic genres such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Latin Grooves, and other upbeat tracks to stay motivated while exercising.
For mindfulness and relaxation, Apple Fitness+ includes 12 guided meditation themes such as Calm, Sleep, and Sound. These sessions focus on simple, easy-to-follow techniques aimed at helping users recharge and maintain mental well-being throughout the day.
Apple Fitness+ additionally offers the ‘Time to Walk’ experience on iPhone and Apple Watch. This feature is designed to encourage regular walking and includes stories, photos, and music curated by well-known personalities. Participants include artists Daddy Yankee, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes, actors Simu Liu and Jane Fonda, as well as Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda.
Apple Fitness+ is offered in India through a subscription-based model. The service is priced at Rs. 149 per month, while users looking for a longer commitment can opt for an annual plan costing Rs. 999 per year.
To encourage adoption, Apple is providing a one-month free trial for new users, allowing them to explore the service before committing to a paid plan.
In addition, customers who purchase a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2 from Apple or an Apple Authorised Reseller are eligible for three months of complimentary Apple Fitness+, provided the devices support the latest operating system software.
The subscription is not bundled with Apple One and must be purchased separately. However, Apple allows the Fitness+ subscription to be shared with up to five family members under Family Sharing.
