Amazon has launched the new 12th-generation Kindle Paperwhite in India, after its global debut in October last year. Commenting on the launch, Dilip R.S., Director and Country Manager, Amazon Devices India, said, “Kindle Paperwhite has been a popular choice among readers for years, and we’re excited to launch the all-new Kindle Paperwhite with upgraded features that our customers will value. Its fast performance, with 25% faster page turns, ensures customers never have a slow moment while reading. Its largest-ever display provides added reading comfort and its lightweight design makes it convenient to carry and read on-the-go. We look forward to our customers unlocking stories from a vast selection of Indian and international titles available on Amazon with this latest Kindle.”

This version comes with a 7-inch glare-free 300 PPI display and slimmer borders, giving it a larger screen-to-body ratio for a better reading experience.
It’s also the thinnest Kindle Paperwhite yet and offers an impressive battery life of up to 12 weeks or 3 months. Page turns are now 25% faster, and the device comes with 16GB of storage. It also includes an auto-adjusting front light for comfortable reading in any lighting condition.
Like before, the Kindle Paperwhite is waterproof with an IPX8 rating. It can handle being submerged in up to 2 meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes. The device is available only in Wi-Fi versions—there’s no 4G model.
The Kindle Paperwhite includes helpful tools like X-Ray, Word Wise, and a built-in dictionary to make reading easier and more enjoyable. Setting it up is now even simpler thanks to Kindle app integration for both Android and iOS.
Users can explore over 1.5 crore titles including books in Hindi, Tamil, and Marathi. Kindle Unlimited and Amazon Prime members also get access to additional free content.
The new Kindle Paperwhite (12th Gen) is available in black and priced at Rs. 16,999 on Amazon.in. You can also buy covers in Black, Marine Green and Tulip Pink for Rs. 1,999 each.
