Amazon launches Android and iOS compatible Echo Buds 2nd Generation in India; check specs, price and availability  

Are you looking for a pair of earbuds that allows you to use Alexa whole day without causing any inconvenience to you while at home, walking in the neighborhood or commuting to work. If yes, US-based tech giant Amazon has a solution to it. Amazon has launched Echo Buds 2nd Generation to offer a seamless entertainment experience. Echo Buds connect to Alexa through the Alexa app on your mobile device and use your existing device data plan to access features such as music, calling, and more.

According to Parag Gupta, Country Manager, Amazon Devices India, customers can just ask Alexa to play music, listen to audiobooks, call their loved ones and do so much more while they are on the go.

What is Echo Buds

Android and iOS compatible, Echo Buds use a combination of three microphones to detect your speech and securely process it for the cloud. Featuring an all-new design, premium audio architecture for crisp, balanced sound, custom-designed Active Noise Cancellation technology and wireless charging capabilities, Echo Bud 2nd Generations are built with multiple layers of privacy protections and controls. It has the ability to mute the mics with the Alexa app or through the customisable on-bud tap controls.

 

Echo Buds 2nd Generation price in India

With active noise cancellation technology, wireless charging capability and hands-free access to Alexa, the newly launched Echo Buds 2nd Generation is available at starting price of Rs11,999 for the USB-C wired charging option. Currently, Amazon is offering a limited-period discount of Rs1000.The all-new Echo Buds can be purchased from www.amazon.in/echobuds. For wireless charging case option, you need to pay Rs 13999.

Battery status

Echo Buds can be charged via USB-C (comes with the box) and the wireless option can also be charged with compatible Qi-certified wireless charging pads (to be purchased separately). To check battery status while wearing, you can say, “Alexa, what’s my battery status?” You can also check the battery status in the Alexa app, or open the case while your Echo Buds are inside and the LED lights in front of each earbud will show the battery status.

Seamless experience to entertainment

A new Alexa feature gives you seamless move music between Alexa devices. You can continue listening to the music exactly where you left off by just saying ‘Alexa, move my music to Echo Buds.

With the help of Echo Buds, customers can get an easy access to all of the content available on Alexa. Just ask to listen to your favourite songs on Amazon Prime Music, Hungama, JioSaavn, Gaana, Apple Music, Spotify or listen to an audiobook from Audible, stories narrated by celebrities from Audible Suno and more.

Google Assistant and Siri

Compatible with Android and iOS phones, users can get access to Google Assistant and Siri through customisable tap controls in Echo Buds 2nd Generation. Powered by an advanced chipset, the all-new Echo Buds cancel the ambient noise. The latest offering from Amazon has premium audio architecture for crisp and balanced sound.

How to turn on active noise cancellation

To turn on Active Noise Cancellation, you need to press and hold either earbud. Active Noise Cancellation can also be turned on by saying, ‘Alexa, turn on noise cancellation’. You can also visit settings in the Alexa app to use Active Noise Cancellation.

Passthrough mode

Talking about other specifications, ‘Passthrough Mode’ available on Echo Buds Second Generation lets you to adjust the amount of ambient sound you hear through the device. This can be done in the settings in the Alexa app. ‘Passthrough’ mode allows you to can hear what’s going on around you. Press and hold on either earbud to enable Passthrough Mode. This can also be done by saying, “Alexa, turn on Passthrough.”

Customisable fit

Designed for maximum comfort, the new Echo Buds are lightweight, small in size and IPX4-rated to withstand splashes, sweat, or light rain. To reduce ear pressure during use, the new Echo buds are comprised of a short nozzle and the built-in vents.

Additionally, you can tailor the fit to what’s most comfortable for you with four ear tip sizes and two wing tip sizes included with your purchase.

Power Up for Work or Play

On a single charge with Active Noise Cancellation and Alexa wake word ON, Echo Buds offer up to five hours of music playback. The compact case provides two additional charges for a total of up to 15 hours of music playback.

Difference between Echo Buds and Echo Buds 2

The product was first launched in the US in May last year and other countries before arriving in India. The new product by Amazon is smaller in size as compared to its predecessor.
