Reliance Jio has rolled out new voice-only prepaid recharge plans starting at Rs 147 across India. As per the amended criteria issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio’s dedicated packs will enable customers to retain mobile numbers for voice calls and texts without shelling out for daily internet usage. Subscribers can choose from six validity options ranging from 22 days to 336 days.

Jio’s entry-level voice-only option is the Rs 147 bundle. It comes with 22 days of subscription validity and genuinely unlimited voice calling to any local or STD network throughout India. Subscribers also receive a total of 300 SMS for the whole duration. The plan does not include any mobile data at all, which keeps the entry price low for consumers simply needing calling functions.
Difference Between Jio Voice Only Plans And Regular Prepaid Plans
Standard prepaid plans combine daily or fixed mobile data, such as 1.5GB/day, or 2GB/day, with voice calling, which increases the entire recharge cost. Jio voice-only plans remove all data limitations, allowing users to pay just for voice calls and SMS. Also, plans like the Rs 197 option provide validity as per calendar month, i.e., if you recharge on the 5th of a month, your next renewal date would be on the 5th of the next month, irrespective of whether the month includes 28, 30 or 31 days.

The Rs 196 (30 days) and Rs 197 (Calendar Month) packs are for individuals who keep a second SIM for work, for receiving banking OTPs or only for incoming calls. These packs are particularly well-suited for those who want to recharge on a certain calendar date every month.
The Rs 448 (84 days) and Rs 1,748 (336 days) plans are ideal for those who want long-term validity and don’t want to bother with monthly recharges, especially if you just use home or workplace Wi-Fi for internet.
