The OnePlus 16 has reportedly sold more than 70,000 units within its first hour on sale in China. OnePlus China president Li Jie shared the initial sales figures on Weibo and claimed that the new flagship recorded the highest sales volume among Android flagship smartphones during their comparable launch periods in 2026.
The smartphone went on sale in China on October 13, following its launch a day earlier.

According to OnePlus China president Li Jie, the OnePlus 16 crossed the 70,000-unit sales milestone within one hour of going on sale in China.

Sales of OnePlus 16 reportedly began at 10am local time on October 13 with the company reaching the milestone by 11am. Li Jie shared the figures highlighting the smartphone’s initial performance in the Chinese market.
However, OnePlus has not disclosed a detailed breakdown of these figures. The company has also not shared how the sales were divided across different retailers, storage variants or sales channels.

Alongside the initial sales figure, Li Jie claimed that the OnePlus 16 ranked first among Android flagship smartphones launched in 2026 in terms of sales during a comparable launch-period window.
The claim suggests that the phone recorded a stronger initial sales performance than competing Android flagships over the same period. However, there was no comparison data or figures shared for the other smartphones included in the assessment.

OnePlus 16 Price in China and India Availability
The OnePlus 16 is available in China in four RAM and storage configurations. Its starting price is CNY 5,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The company has also announced higher-capacity options with the top-end model offering 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
