iQOO has officially launched its latest flagship, the iQOO 16, in China. The flagship smartphone puts a strong focus on gaming and key highlights include the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, iQOO’s Q4 gaming chip, an 8,400mAh battery and an 8,500mm² VC cooling system. Here’s everything you need to know about the newly launched smartphone.
iQOO 16 Price and Availability
The iQOO 16 will go on sale in China in October through the Vivo online store.
The price starts at CNY 5,999, which is roughly Rs. 86,000, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 6,799, or around Rs. 97,000, while the 16GB + 512GB version costs CNY 7,499, equivalent to roughly Rs. 1,07,000.
The top-end configuration with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at CNY 8,499, which converts to approximately Rs. 1,21,000.
The flagship come in three colour options, which are named Chasing the Light, Legend and Racing Track.
iQOO 16 Global Launch
The global version of the iQOO 16 has already appeared on Europe’s EEC certification platform, suggesting that an international launch could be in the works.
However, iQOO has not yet officially confirmed when the smartphone will be launched in global markets
iQOO 16 – Key Specifications
The iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch Samsung M16 AMOLED display with a 3168 x 1440-pixel resolution and an LTPO refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The panel supports up to 5000Hz instantaneous touch sampling and offers 2800 nits of full-screen excitation brightness, along with up to 10,000 nits of peak local brightness. It also supports full-brightness DC dimming and up to 3300Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 based on TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process and offers CPU clock speeds of up to 5.01GHz. The chipset received 5.57 million+ AnTuTu score, as per reports.The chipset is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra Pro RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. iQOO has also added its Q4 gaming chip, Monster Super Core Engine and an 8,500mm² VC cooling system to help maintain performance during demanding workloads and gaming sessions.
The iQOO 16 runs Android 17 with OriginOS 7 on top.
The phone packs an 8,400mAh battery based on fifth-generation silicon-anode technology. It supports 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. Battery specs –

For gaming, the iQOO 16 uses the company’s Q-flex control technology, which optimises six stages of the touch-control pipeline and works with the touch chip and gyroscope at the game-engine level to reduce touch and gaming latency.
The rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50Q primary sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 600 periscope telephoto camera with OIS and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 32-megapixel front camera. The rear camera system can also record videos in up to 8K resolution.

It comes with 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, Wi-Fi 7, USB 3.2 Gen 1, NFC, an infrared blaster and stereo speakers. The phone also features an X+Z dual-axis linear motor designed to deliver more varied and precise haptic feedback. For durability, the device carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The iQOO 16 measures 163.75 × 76.90 × 8.3mm in the Track Edition, while the Legend Edition is 8.4mm thick and the Light Chaser Edition measures 8.55mm. The Track Edition weighs 222.5g, compared with 227.9g for the Legend Edition and 229.8g for the Light Chaser Edition. The phone also comes with IP68 + IP69 dust and water resistance.
