Honor has launched the Magic 9 Pro Max in China with a focus on a professional camera workflow developed with ARRI. Launched alongside two other Magic 9 series models, the phone features a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen6 chipset, a triple rear camera setup led by two 200MP sensors and an 8,800mAh battery with 100W wired charging. Honor Magic 9 Pro Max – Key Specifications
The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max features a 6.8-inch 1.5K 120Hz LTPO flat OLED display with up to 10,000 nits peak brightness, 2,000 nits HBM brightness and 6,000 nits brightness at 20% APL. The display also supports 4,320Hz PWM dimming and has extremely slim 0.98mm bezels.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen6 2nm chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage and MagicOS 11.
For photography, the phone gets a 200MP OV52A primary camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, 3° OIS and CIPA 8.0 stabilisation. It is accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 1/2.8-inch-class sensor and a 200MP HPE periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom. The telephoto camera has an 85mm focal length, 1/1.4-inch sensor, CIPA 8.0 stabilisation and up to 200x digital zoom.
The phone also supports the Honor G200 and G500 telephoto converters, offering 200mm (2.35x) and 500mm (5.88x) focal lengths, respectively. Honor has also included ARRI Image Science and its H1 Imaging Chip.
For selfies and biometric security, the Magic 9 Pro Max has a 50MP square front camera with a 1/2.74-inch sensor and 3D face recognition.
The phone packs a large 8,800mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. Other features include IP69K, IP69 and IP68 ratings, an IR blaster, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, dual 1216 speakers, a cinema-grade shotgun microphone system with four microphones, an AI button and a dedicated camera button.
Connectivity and other hardware features include USB 3.2 Gen1 with DP1.2 support, Honor C3 and E2 chips, Wi-Fi 8, Bluetooth 6.3, NFC and eSIM support. The handset measures 161.64 × 76.98 × 8.59mm and weighs 233 grams.
As for colour options, the phone is available in Moss Green, Shadow Black and Silver Salt colour options.
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max – Price
The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max starts at 6,499 yuan (around Rs 82,900) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB+512GB model costs 6,999 yuan (around Rs 89,300), while the 16GB+512GB variant is priced at 7,499 yuan (around Rs 95,600). The top-end 16GB+1TB version costs 8,499 yuan (around Rs 1,08,300).
Honor is also offering several camera accessories. The Honor G200 telephoto converter costs 999 yuan (around Rs 12,700), while the G200 converter bundled with a telephoto accessory costs 1,499 yuan (around Rs 19,100). The Honor G500 telephoto converter is priced at 1,999 yuan (around Rs 25,500), while the G500 converter with a telephoto accessory costs 2,499 yuan (around Rs 31,900).
The Honor SmallRig dedicated smartphone rig is priced at 1,699 yuan (around Rs 21,700).
