Xiaomi is set to launch the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in China today. The new flagship series will debut at Xiaomi’s autumn product launch event and is expected to be among the first smartphones powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series.
Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has already confirmed several specifications, including the dual 200MP Leica camera system, large silicon-carbon batteries, new Super Pixel display and hardware-level privacy technology. The company has also confirmed that the series will receive a global launch later this year.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Launch Today: Date and Time
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series will launch in China on September 23 at 7:00 PM local time. This translates to 4:30 PM IST for viewers in India.
The event is expected to focus on the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. The standard Xiaomi 18 is not expected to be introduced at this event and could arrive at a later date.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the 18 Pro series will launch globally later this year, although specific international markets and dates have not yet been announced.

Xiaomi 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max Expected Specifications
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 family. Xiaomi has now confirmed the individual chipset assignments, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Both are based on a 2nm process.
Both phones will feature a Super Pixel Display 2.0 panel with the new M11 luminescent material. Xiaomi claims the panel is 20% more power efficient than its predecessor and can reach 4,000 nits peak brightness. The phones also have extremely narrow 0.99mm bezels and hardware-level privacy protection.
The series will run HyperOS 4 and feature a secondary display on the rear camera module. Xiaomi has teased additional functionality for this rear screen but has not disclosed every feature yet.

Xiaomi 18 Pro, Pro Max Camera Specifications
Camera performance is one of the major highlights of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series. Both models feature a dual 200MP Leica camera system, consisting of a high-resolution primary sensor and a periscope telephoto camera.
The primary camera uses a large 1/1.28-inch 200MP sensor, while the 200MP periscope telephoto uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor. The telephoto lens has a 75mm focal length, f/2.4 aperture and 3.2x optical zoom.
The telephoto camera also supports close focusing from as little as 12cm, allowing it to be used for macro photography. Xiaomi claims the new telephoto system offers 280% higher light intake on the Xiaomi 18 Pro compared with the previous generation, while the Pro Max reportedly delivers an 83% increase.
Xiaomi has not yet officially detailed the third rear camera in the sources reviewed. Reports suggest it could be a 50MP ultrawide camera, but this has not been confirmed by Xiaomi.
Xiaomi 18 Pro, Pro Max Battery and Charging
Battery capacity is another major upgrade for the new series. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is confirmed to feature a 7,000mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max gets an 8,500mAh battery. Both use Xiaomi’s new-generation silicon-carbon battery technology with 32% silicon content.
Xiaomi has not yet officially detailed the complete charging specifications but earlier reports on tech news channels suggest that both devices will feature up to 100W wired charging capabilities.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Expected Price
Xiaomi has not officially revealed the China pricing of the Xiaomi 18 Pro or 18 Pro Max ahead of today’s launch.
The previous-generation Xiaomi 17 Pro started at CNY 5,699 in China. Xiaomi executive Lu Weibing has indicated that the new 18 Pro series will be priced higher than its predecessor, without revealing exact figures.
India pricing and availability are also yet to be announced.
