iQOO 16 and OnePlus 16 are two of the most anticipated flagship smartphones that are scheduled to launch in the next couple of months. Both devices are expected to bring powerful hardware and a comparison between the two is inevitable. While we usually wait for the launch to see competing gadgets face off, a new leak is now doing that much ahead of the official announcement.
iQOO 16 Vs OnePlus 16 – Camera Specifications Face Off
Ahead of their respective launches, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared details about the camera hardware expected on both iQOO 16 and OnePlus 16.

The iQOO 16 is tipped to feature a triple rear camera setup with all three sensors offering a 50-megapixel resolution. The primary camera is reportedly based on an OV50Q sensor with a 1/1.3-inch size. The main sensor could be accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto sensor. The latter is expected to support 3x optical zoom.
This means the iQOO 16 could offer three 50-megapixel cameras. The relatively large 1/1.3-inch main sensor could also give the phone an advantage when capturing photos in low-light conditions, while potentially improving overall image quality.
On the other hand, OnePlus 16 is expected to take a different approach to its camera setup. According to the leak, the phone could feature a 200-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. The exact sensor model has not been revealed yet. The high-resolution main camera could be paired with a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto unit is also expected to offer 3x optical zoom.
iQOO 16 vs OnePlus 16
The camera hardware is not the only area where the two upcoming phones are expected to differ. Both models are tipped to feature high-end displays, although their specifications could be quite different.
The iQOO 16 is reportedly set to feature a Samsung AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus 16, on the other hand, could come with a 1.5K OLED panel supporting a higher 185Hz refresh rate.
Both smartphones are expected to use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
The iQOO 16 could pack an 8,400mAh battery, while the OnePlus 16 is tipped to offer an even larger 9,000mAh battery. Both phones are also expected to support 100W wired charging. For wireless charging, the iQOO 16 could support up to 40W, while the OnePlus 16 may offer faster 50W wireless charging.
On the software side, both smartphones are tipped to run Android 17. The iQOO 16 is expected to use OriginOS 7 interface, while the OnePlus 16 could ship with ColorOS 17.
For more confirmed details, we will have to wait till official announcement is made. As of now, the iQOO 16 has already been confirmed to launch in China towards the end of September. The OnePlus 16, meanwhile, is rumoured to arrive in October.
