Tecno has expanded its Pova 8 series with the launch of the Pova 8 Pro 5G in the global market. The smartphone has made its debut in Thailand, just weeks after the company introduced the Pova 8 5G in India. The new Pova 8 Pro arrives with a distinctive “Alive Matrix” rear panel, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM. Pova 8 Pro 5G – Price and Availability
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G has been introduced in Thailand in three memory configurations. The base model offers 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, while the 12GB RAM variant is available in 256GB and 512GB storage options.
The smartphone is priced at approximately Rs 25,000. Tecno is yet to announce the prices of all three variants, and the details are expected to be revealed later.

The handset is available in Arc White, Graphite Black, and Tundra Green colour options.
Pova 8 Pro 5G – Key Features

Newly unveiled Pova 8 Pro 5G features a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2644 x 1208 pixels). The screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits peak brightness, and 2592Hz PWM dimming. It also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
The Pova 8 Pro 5G runs Android 16 with HiOS 16 on top. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor. The octa-core chipset is built on a 4nm process and offers clock speeds of up to 2.6GHz, while graphics are handled by the Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU.

The biggest design highlight of the Pova 8 Pro 5G is its “Alive Matrix” design on the rear panel. Integrated next to the camera module. This secondary display houses 177 LED lights that illuminate for notifications, display the time, and show various animations. Users can customise the lighting effects, with support for 49 different animation styles.
For photography, the smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 700C primary sensor with LED flash and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On the front, it houses a 13-megapixel selfie camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone packs a 6,500mAh battery, which Tecno says is designed to deliver a six-year lifespan. It also features self-repairing battery technology, which the company claims can restore 1 percent battery health after every 200 charging cycles. The battery is also designed to maintain its performance in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C.

According to Tecno, the battery can provide more than 27 hours of video playback on a full charge. The smartphone supports 45W fast charging and features a 5K IceShield VC cooling system to keep temperatures under control during intensive gaming and charging sessions.
Gaming-focused features include 4D game vibration, while the display is designed to remain responsive even with wet or oily hands. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an infrared (IR) blaster, allowing the phone to be used as a TV remote.
The handset also carries IP69K, IP69, IP68, and IP66 ratings for protection against dust and water.
