Headphone Zone, which has served Indian audiophiles since 2011, has announced two new co-branded in-ear monitors with ddHiFi: the Iris and the Skyfall. These IEMs are made for the Indian audiophile community and bring quality materials, handcrafted design, and careful tuning to the budget range for the first time.
The Iris and Skyfall are the first IEMs that ddHiFi has made specifically for India, an important step in the brand’s global growth.
Talking about the newly launched IEMs, Raghav Somani, Founder and CEO of Headphone Zone, said: “We went to ddHiFi for a new project aimed at the Indian audiophile community. An IEM that represented value for money for a beginner audiophile. But Demond asked us why India needed another budget IEM. And really, it didn’t. So he said, why not do something that’s never been done before in the budget segment? That conversation became the Iris and Skyfall.”
Premium Build and Unique Handcrafted Design
Both IEMs use a solid 3D-printed medical-grade resin shell, a feature usually found in much more expensive models. This strong build helps prevent problems like cracking or seams coming apart. Each Iris and Skyfall faceplate is hand-painted with detailed marbled patterns and covered with clear resin.
The Iris has a marbled green look, while the Skyfall is marbled blue. Because each one is handcrafted, every pair is unique.
Iris: Vocals-First Tuning for Music Purists
The Iris costs Rs. 2,999 and uses a single dynamic driver with a 10mm beryllium-plated diaphragm. It is tuned to highlight vocals and instruments, providing a balanced sound in which bass and treble support the main details.
Most budget IEMs boost the bass or have a V-shaped sound, but the Iris is tuned for clarity and musical detail. This makes it a good choice for rock, acoustic, pop, R&B, and jazz. It comes with a 3.5mm silver-plated OFC cable and a 0.78mm 2-pin connector, and works well with the Headphone Zone x ddHiFi Hi-Res DAC.
Skyfall: Hybrid Power for Rich, Fatigue-Free Listening
The Skyfall costs Rs. 3,999 and uses a hybrid driver setup with one dynamic driver and one balanced armature. It combines a 10mm nano-titanium dynamic driver with a custom balanced armature, and a two-way crossover helps keep the sound smooth across all frequencies.
The Skyfall is tuned for a warm, rich sound with gentle treble, so you can listen for hours without getting tired. It works well for cinematic music, soundtracks, hip-hop, and electronic music. It includes a 4.4mm balanced silver-plated OFC cable with an aluminium shell and supports high-resolution audio setups.
