The QD-OLED panel achieves this brightness by combining the peak luminance of individual RGB elements, rather than relying on white subpixels.

According to Samsung, this method enhances colour purity and offers higher perceived brightness compared to conventional OLED panels.

One test involves a robotic arm repeatedly throwing basketballs at 18 foldable OLED panels mounted on a board, with the displays continuing to function normally after multiple impacts. Another test drops steel balls onto foldable screens to compare their durability against other display technologies.

In the automotive segment, Samsung Display is set to unveil new cockpit display concepts including an 18.1-inch flexible L-shaped centre screen, a concealed passenger display, and OLED tail lamps capable of showing live road alerts to vehicles behind.

The company is also showcasing its RGB OLEDoS microdisplay, which delivers 5,000 pixels per inch within a 1.4-inch panel. Samsung has integrated this display into a headset demo to highlight its potential applications in future XR devices.

Samsung Electronics has also announced the world’s first 130-inch Micro RGB TV, known as the R95H model, at CES 2026. This marks the debut of Samsung’s largest Micro RGB display and introduces a new design direction for ultra-premium televisions.

“Micro RGB represents the peak of our picture quality innovation, and the new 130-inch model takes that vision even further,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “We’re reviving the spirit of our original design philosophy introduced more than a decade ago to deliver an unmistakably premium display, engineered with technology for a new generation.”

The 130-inch Micro RGB TV is powered by Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, Micro RGB Color Booster Pro, and Micro RGB HDR Pro. These AI-powered technologies enhance muted tones, refine contrast, and deliver vivid colours with fine detail across both bright and dark scenes.

The display supports Micro RGB Precision Color 100, offering 100% coverage of the BT.2020 wide color gamut. It has also been certified by the Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE) for accurate Micro RGB color reproduction. Samsung’s proprietary Glare Free technology further reduces reflections, helping maintain consistent color and contrast under different lighting conditions.

Additional features include support for HDR10+ ADVANCED1 and Eclipsa Audio, along with Samsung’s enhanced Vision AI Companion. This enables conversational search, proactive recommendations, and access to AI-powered tools and apps such as AI Football Mode Pro, AI Sound Controller Pro, Live Translate, Generative Wallpaper, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity.
