Huawei has unveiled a new range of wearable products at its latest launch event, introducing the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 and the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5. Alongside these launches, the company also confirmed that the upcoming Huawei Watch GT 6 series will be the first to support a dedicated Wheelchair Mode within its Activity Rings feature. Huawei Watch GT Runner 2
The Watch GT Runner 2 sports a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution and peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. It is protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass for enhanced durability.
Buyers can choose from Dawn Orange, Dusk Blue, and Midnight Black colour options. In terms of design, Huawei has refined the watch with runners in mind. The case, bezel, crown, and buttons are crafted from titanium alloy, and the device measures 43.5mm by 43.5mm with a thickness of 10.7mm. Weighing approximately 34.5 grams without the strap, it stands out as particularly lightweight for its category.
The watch is paired with a new AirDry woven strap featuring a hollowed design to improve breathability, with Huawei claiming a 25 percent boost in airflow compared to earlier straps. A fluoroelastomer strap is also included for workouts involving sweat and water exposure.
On the software front, the wearable introduces an Intelligent Marathon Mode co-developed with the DSM-Firmenich Running Team. The watch can also predict finishing times based on historical data and training patterns.
During races, users can view real-time pace charts, estimated finish times, and their gap against a target time. After each session, the Huawei Health app provides a detailed performance breakdown along with form analysis and recovery guidance.
Beyond running, the smartwatch supports more than 100 sports modes including trail running, swimming, cycling, golf with access to over 17,000 courses in select markets, and freediving up to 40 meters. It carries 5 ATM and IP69 ratings, though Huawei clarifies that it is not intended for hot showers or deep scuba diving.
For health tracking, the device offers ECG monitoring, heart rate variability tracking, blood oxygen measurement, sleep tracking with breathing awareness, and stress insights.

Huawei Watch GT 6 Series to Introduce Wheelchair Mode in Activity Rings
Huawei has now confirmed that Huawei Watch GT 6 series will be the first device to support a new workout mode called Rolling. Expected to roll out at the end of December, this mode is designed to precisely track both the frequency and number of wheelchair pushes.
The company states that the upgrade represents a tangible realisation of its vision to “bring digital to every person, home and organization for a fully connected, intelligent world.”
In an official statement, Huawei said, “As a leader in technological innovation, we embrace our duty to empower all- not just the many, but the overlooked and the underserved- ensuring a future where every individual thrives in health, dignity, and vitality.”

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 feature an oval-shaped charging case and earbuds with a star-ring diamond-cut design. The stem includes a subtle golden ring along with HUAWEI SOUND branding, adding to the premium aesthetic.
The earbuds use silicone ear tips in an in-ear stem-style design intended for a secure fit during extended listening sessions. Each earbud weighs 5.5 grams and measures 29.1 x 21.8 x 23.7mm, while the charging case weighs 43 grams and measures 65.50 x 46.70 x 22.98mm. Globally, the earbuds are available in Snowy White, Frost Silver, Azure Sky, and Earth Gold.
Internally, Huawei employs a dual-driver system combining an ultra-linear dual-magnetic circuit bass unit with an ultra-thin micro-planar tweeter. The bass driver reaches frequencies as low as 10Hz, while the tweeter extends up to 48kHz for enhanced clarity at higher frequencies.
The FreeBuds Pro 5 incorporate a dual-unit, dual-channel active noise cancellation system that emits reverse sound waves to counter ambient noise. Huawei claims the new system offers up to three times better performance than the previous generation.
The Kirin A3 chipset manages environmental processing and noise reduction alongside upgraded microphones, with the company stating that call clarity remains stable even in noise levels up to 100dB and wind speeds of 10m/s. An Alert Mode is also included to allow important external sounds to pass through when needed.
The earbuds support AAC, SBC, LDAC, and L2HC codecs. They also feature Huawei’s proprietary NearLink technology, which enables lossless audio transmission speeds of up to 4.6Mbps under supported conditions.
Each earbud houses a 60mAh battery, while the charging case includes a 537mAh battery. Huawei claims up to 9 hours of playback without active noise cancellation and approximately 6 hours with ANC enabled.
