Vivo has officially launched the Vivo Y05 in India, expanding its budget smartphone portfolio. Earlier this year, the same model was introduced in some specific regions including Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. The device has been unveiled via the company’s official website in India. It is also available for purchase through offline retail stores across the country. Here’s everything you need to know about the phone.
Vivo Y05 – Price and Availability
The Vivo Y05 is priced at ₹12,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The company has also introduced another variant offering 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. However, price of this memory variant has not been revealed yet.
Buyers can choose between two colour options, which are Midnight Blue and Champagne Gold.
Vivo Y05 – Key Features
The Vivo Y05 4G features a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels. It comes with a waterdrop notch design and supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 260 PPI pixel density and up to 1200 nits of peak brightness. Vivo has also included a High-Brightness Eye-Care Mode to improve visibility in outdoor conditions.
It runs on Android 16 with OriginOS 6.0 layered on top. It is powered by the Unisoc T7225 octa-core processor built on a 12nm process and clocked at up to 1.8GHz. The smartphone also supports Extended RAM technology allowing the 4GB physical RAM to be expanded up to 8GB with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM.
For photography, the Vivo Y05 4G is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. On the front, it houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Despite the modest camera hardware, the smartphone includes multiple shooting modes such as Night, Portrait, Live Photo, Time-lapse and Documents.
The device is backed by a 6500mAh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 29 hours of continuous video playback on a single charge. Vivo also states that the battery is designed to maintain its health for up to five years. The smartphone supports 15W charging and also offers reverse charging capability enabling users to charge other devices.
In terms of durability, Vivo has designed the Y05 with military-grade protection allowing it to withstand drops and impacts. The phone also carries an IP65 rating for resistance against dust and water.
