Vivo is set to launch its new flagship smartphone lineup in China today, i.e. September 21, 2026. The lineup will include the Vivo X500, X500 Pro and the Vivo X500 Pro Max. Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed several details about the upcoming phones including Vivo X500 Pro.

According to the details now available thanks to multiple leaks, the phone will combine a smaller display with flagship-level hardware including the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset and a Zeiss-powered camera system. The Vivo X500 Pro is also expected to focus on photography and video recording with features such as native 8K live video, 4K 240fps cinematic slow motion and support for a 200mm Zeiss teleconverter. Dimensity 9600 Pro Chipset

Powering the Vivo X500 Pro is expected to be the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro based on a 2nm process and is expected to provide the performance needed for the phone’s flagship positioning.

The use of the Dimensity 9600 Pro would also place the Vivo X500 Pro among the higher-end smartphones using MediaTek’s next-generation flagship platform. The Vivo X500 Pro is also expected to feature the Universal Signal Amplification System 5.0.

Vivo X500 Pro To Feature a Compact 1.5K Display

The Vivo X500 Pro is tipped to feature a 6.36-inch compact OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. This would give the phone a smaller footprint while keeping the display resolution in line with what is expected from a flagship device.

The compact display is also part of the phone’s expected positioning. Vivo appears to be targeting users looking for a smaller flagship without moving away from high-end hardware.

Zeiss Camera Setup With Teleconverter Support

Camera performance could be another major highlight of the Vivo X500 Pro. The phone is expected to feature a BluePrint 900 main camera sensor paired with a ZEISS APO LYT 610 periscope telephoto camera.
