The adventures at Twitter are far from seeing an end with new rules cropping up every day, sometimes twice on the same day. Just days after suspending the “Twitter Blue” service, the richest man in the world Elon Musk has now announced that Twitter will again be relaunching the “Twitter Blue” service on Friday, December 2, 2022 with some modifications.

Twitter Chief, while replying to a tweet revealed that the updated Twitter Blue service is going to feature many unique checkmarks specifically for different units.

Elon Musk, while replying to a question about why the user couldn’t verify their account, said, “Sorry for the delay, we’re tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week. Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before the check activates. Painful, but necessary.” The response came to the previously posed question by the user on a thread where Musk had suggested $8 for account verification, and asked, “Elon, I’m trying. It won’t let me and I’m Verified (need to edit 1 character I can’t spell).”

What is Twitter Blue with Gold, Grey, Blue checkmarks?

The Twitter verification system is all set to go through another set of changes to make it all more streamlined. The previous Blue Checkmark of verified Twitter accounts will now be divided into three colours that include Gold, Gray, and Blue. As per details revealed by the Twitter Chief himself, going forward, the gold colour checkmark will be for organisations, the grey colour checkmark for government, and the blue colour checkmark will be for individuals (celebrity or otherwise).

Elon also specified that according to new rules and settings, all verified accounts will have to be authenticated manually before the check can be activated on user profiles.

Those Twitter users who wish to get a Checkmark and subscribe to the Twitter Blue privileges will have to pay a monthly fee of $7.99. Previously, the verified accounts as well as the blue Twitter checkmark were free for notable personalities such as politicians, famous personalities, journalists, and other public figures. Users can simply go to their Profile section on the Twitter app or the web app and Tap on Twitter Blue to pay for the subscription fee and complete the account verification process.
