"Google AI" to power new Pixel 9 features. "Studio" enables on-device image generation. "Add me" enhances group photos with AI. "Pixel Screenshots" offers smart screenshot analysis. The upcoming Pixel 9 series is shaping up to be Google's most AI-focused smartphone yet. A recent report by Android Authority suggests a suite of new features powered by "Google AI," bringing advanced capabilities to users' fingertips. Key AI Features Google AI: A new umbrella term for AI-powered functions on Pixel devices Studio: A creative tool for generating images based on user prompts Add me: An enhancement to group photos, possibly building on the "BestTake" feature Pixel Screenshots: AI-powered analysis and summarization of screenshot content The Power of Google AI Google AI is the new set of features coming soon on the Pixel 9 At the center of these new features is "Google AI," which seems to be Google's branding for AI features on Pixel devices. This would be the actualization of the reportedly leaked "Pixie" assistant, which is said to make use of Gemini and other language models to provide a personalized experience. This would be done with the help of data from many Google products, like Gmail and Maps, working their way to give a more contextualized, thus helpful, AI assistant than ever. Creative Capabilities with "Studio" The "Studio" feature seems to be a rebranding of the previously rumored "Creative Assistant." It promises to let users "imagine it" while the "Pixel creates it," hinting at powerful on-device image generation capabilities. This could utilize technologies like Imagen 2, VideoFX, and ImageFX to bring users' creative visions to life. The potential for users to generate custom images directly on their phones opens up exciting possibilities for content creation and personalization. Enhancing Photos with Add me Google Photos are going to be enhanced with Google AI Building on the Pixel 8's "Best Take" function, "Add me" aims to ensure everyone is included in group photos. While details are scarce, it suggests advanced computational photography techniques to composite ideal group shots. This feature could potentially analyze multiple shots to create the perfect group photo, even if someone was missing or blinking in some of the frames. Smart Screenshot Analysis Screenshot analysis coming with the Pixel 9 and Google AI "Pixel Screenshots" appears to be Google's answer to Microsoft's Recall feature. This AI-powered tool will allow users to search, summarize, and extract information from their screenshot library, potentially turning it into a knowledge base. Users might be able to ask questions about the information contained in their screenshots, making it easier to recall and utilize the information they've saved. Here is how your screenshots will be managed with Google AI A Glimpse of the Hardware Pixel 9 has been leaked in a very vibrant pink colour. In more news, recent leaks have also given us a look at the Pixel 9's physical design: A vibrant pink color option, possibly called "Peony" Flat glass display panel Bezels similar to the Pixel 8 Continued use of the camera bar design, likely with some refinements The most recent leaked videos of the device from multiple angles show it to have a flat display, giving us a much better idea of overall dimensions. The bezel size does seem similar to that of the Pixel 8, but there might be slight improvements in screen-to-body ratio. Here, we see something quite unique: the camera bar, which seems to be fixed—design-wise—so much so that it built an identity for the newer Pixels. What's Next? A very link Pixel 9 colour variant has been leaked on the internet. With the Pixel 9 series expected to launch on August 13, more details are sure to emerge in the coming weeks.
