ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro tops AnTuTu rankings with a score of 2,135,740. Mid-range leader is OnePlus Ace 3V, powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Qualcomm and MediaTek are neck-and-neck in chip performance. Gaming phones like Red Magic 9 Pro+ dominate high-end performance charts. With the month of June 2024 coming to an end, AnTuTu finally released the long-anticipated Antutu benchmark rankings for the best-performing smartphones. Antutu flagship benchmark charts June 2024 These ranks, in light of tests done in China, hold valuable insight into where technology sits in the mobile space at this point. Let's dive deep into the outcome and probe further on what it means to consumers and the industry at large. The next nearest rivals were Oppo Find X7 and iQOO Neo9S Pro, turning in scores of 2,103,557 and 2,097,626 respectively. Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro These devices are powered by the Dimensity 9300 and 9300+ chips from MediaTek, proving once again that competition for mobile processors is fiercer than ever between the two rivals. Familiar faces occupied the top ten list, with Vivo and sub-brand iQOO occupying four places. The fourth place went to the Red Magic 9 Pro+, which has spent quite a large period at the top of the list. Mid-Range Marvels: Performance on a Budget Antutu mid-range benchmark charts June 2024 In the upper mid-range category, OnePlus topped the list with 1,434,328 points for its Ace 3V device. The device, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip, speaks to the blossoming might of mid-range processors. OnePlus Ace 3V The remaining top three were completed by Realme GT Neo6 SE and Redmi K70E. The mid-range list was indicative of a more evenly matched contest between Qualcomm and MediaTek. While Snapdragon chips powered the top performers, MediaTek's Dimensity series made a strong showing, particularly with the 8200 chipset featuring in four of the top ten devices in the Antutu benchmark rankings. Gaming: A Driving Force in Smartphone Evolution Of course, supremacy in the rankings would belong to gaming-oriented phones like the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+. Red Magic 9 Pro+ One could say that these phones pack rather specialized hardware, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in a smartphone, bringing with them great benefits not only for gamers but also all kinds of users who want top-tier performance. One of the more interesting entries in this mid-range list is the original OnePlus Ace from 2022. The fact that it stays within the top ten despite being an older model is quite heartening for consumers who would want devices that could remain fairly competitive over the years. The Chip Wars: Qualcomm vs. MediaTek If it wasn't evident enough already, then the most exciting storyline to come out of these rankings is doubtless the never-ending fight for supremacy between Qualcomm and MediaTek. Qualcomm vs MediaTek Battle is heating up At the high-end, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip dominated proceedings by powering six products in the top ten. That changes a bit in the middle segments, however: near-even split between Snapdragon and Dimensity chips. This competition is driving innovation and pushing both companies to deliver better performance at various price points. The result is a win for consumers, who now have access to powerful devices across different budget ranges. Looking Ahead: The Future of Smartphone Performance Qualcomm vs MediaTek battle These rankings give a snapshot of where smartphone technology stands as we go deeper into 2024. What this means for consumers looking either to buy a top-of-the-line flagship or a mid-range device that is budget-friendly is that there are numerous high-performance options on the market. With manufacturers and chip makers not holding back, we can only expect to see more amazing devices in the months and the future featured on the Antutu benchmark rankings.
