HIGHLIGHTS * A Reddit user has modified the battery of a Samsung Galaxy A32. * The increased battery capacity of the modified smartphone is 30,000mAh. * The 30,00mAh battery is said to be charged fully in seven hours. Smartphones have become an indispensable part of our lives. Today, we use these devices for everything from basic communication to financial transactions, which is why they are always within reach. However, regardless of the brand, the weakest and slowest developing part of our phones is undoubtedly the battery. Although manufacturers compensate for this situation with ever-increasing fast-charging technologies, it is not accurate to say that battery capacities have increased much in the last 10 years. Recently, a Galaxy A32 user modified his phone and increased its battery capacity to 30,000mAh. Here are the details… Smartphones have advanced significantly over the past few years in terms of advanced 200MP camera setups, 300W fast charging support, and much more. However, the capacity of smartphone batteries has remained constant, which is an essential component of a smartphone and provides several benefits that can enhance the user experience and improve the device's performance, durability, and safety. However, a Reddit user who goes by the username Downtown_Cranberry44 has modified a Samsung Galaxy A32 smartphone, which comes with a 5,000mAh battery, and increased its battery capacity to a whopping 30,000mAh. Let us find out how he did that. Modified Samsung Galaxy A32 with 30,000mAh Battery The modification entails swapping out the internal battery for an external pack made up of six parallel-wired Samsung 50E cells, each with a capacity of 5,000mAh. Despite the customised phone’s remarkable battery capacity, it has a price. More than double the device’s original weight, the external battery pack is hefty and weighs more than 450 grams. Several charging connectors, including two USB-A, one USB-C, micro USB, and Lightning ports, are also included on the modified phone. According to the user , the 30,000mAh battery required seven to charge fully and might last up to a week. However, he reported that initially, the battery lasted two days with heavy use. The updated phone, however, no longer acknowledges the extra battery pack and continuously reports a 1 per cent battery level. Samsung Galaxy A32 Battery The Samsung Galaxy A32 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support. It is said to offer up to two days of battery life on moderate usage, which might include running the smartphone in 90Hz mode, web browsing, etc. On the other hand, it should be noted that the customised Samsung Galaxy A32 5G may not be particularly attractive, but it serves as an example of the great lengths some users would go to in order to extend the battery life of their smartphone. It’s worth remembering that don’t try this at home. This modification is just a fun project for experts and enthusiasts and an accident caused by amateur craftsmanship can even endanger your life. Ans) While most smartphones have a battery capacity of around 5,000mAh, a Reddit user, Downtown_Cranberry44, has modified his Samsung Galaxy A32 5G to have a whopping 30,000mAh battery. This modification involves replacing the internal battery with an external pack made up of six Samsung 50E cells, each with a capacity of 5,000mAh, wired in parallel. Although the modified phone has an impressive battery capacity, it comes at a cost. The external battery pack is bulky, weighing over 450 grams, which is more than twice the original weight of the device. The modified phone also has multiple charging ports, including two USB-A, one USB-C, micro USB, and Lightning ports. It is possible to say that this port variety has surpassed even most modern laptops. The 30,000mAh battery reportedly took seven hours to fully charge, and the battery lasted up to two days under heavy usage. However, the modified phone no longer recognizes the external battery pack and always reports 1% battery level. While the modified Samsung Galaxy A32 5G may not be visually appealing, it shows that some users are willing to go to great lengths to improve their smartphone’s battery life. As smartphone technology continues to evolve, it remains to be seen whether manufacturers will prioritize battery capacity in their designs. 2) DOES ADDING A MONSTER BATTERY MAKE THE SAMSUNG GALAXY A32 BETTER? Ans) In a word, no. The battery pack is significantly bigger and heavier than the Samsung Galaxy it's attached to, adding what is apparently 30mm of extra casing and a whopping half-kilo (1lb) of weight to a phone that only weighs 205g (7oz) out of the box. More importantly, adding such a big battery massively increases the risk of an explosion. You wouldn't be allowed to carry it onto an aeroplane – US regulations limit battery packs to 100Wh, which is just under 27,000mAh – and the sheer heft and weight of the battery means you're much more likely to hit it off something and do fatal damage to it, and perhaps anything near it. This is definitely one of those "don't try this at home" experiments. Don't worry, though: there are safer and legal alternatives that won't get you chucked off a flight. I'm quite taken by the Anker 737 Power Bank, aka the PowerCore 24K: for power users that could well be the best power bank not just for phones, but for laptops and other power-hungry devices too.
