HIGHLIGHTS * Nubia has revealed the global launch date of the RedMagic 8S Pro smartphone. * The company has also shared the teasers of the device. * Nubia would not launch the smartphone in India. The nubia Red Magic 8S Pro unveiled earlier this month is currently only available in China, but that will change next week since the company has announced the Red Magic 8S Pro will make its international debut on July 18 at 8 AM EST. nubia also introduced the Red Magic 8S Pro+ alongside the 8S Pro, but the company hasn't mentioned that on its event page, suggesting it's only the Red Magic 8S Pro that will escape China next Tuesday. Nubia Red Magic 8S Pro Confirmed to Have Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 As per the official announcements, the Red Magic 8S Pro will ship with the same chipset that powered the Red Magic 8 Pro. Specifically, it will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 rather than the previously rumored Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2. This confirms that Qualcomm is not working on a new 8 Gen 2 chipset at the moment. The nubia Red Magic 8S Pro is powered by what nubia calls a "Leading version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2," with the reason likely being the higher clock speed of the Prime core (3.36GHz vs. 3.2GHz of regular SD 8 Gen 2). The smartphone comes with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage and runs Android 13-based Redmagic OS 8 out of the box. The Red Magic 8S Pro is built around a 6.8" 120Hz AMOLED screen protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and has a resolution of 2,480x1,116 pixels. The display also has a fingerprint scanner underneath for password-less phone unlocking. The Red Magic 8S Pro features four cameras - 50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 16MP selfie (under display). It also has stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 6,000 mAh battery with 80W wired charging. The Pro+ model shares most of the specs with the 8S Pro, except that it packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 165W wired charging support and comes with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB of storage onboard. nubia has also confirmed some important specs of the Red Magic 8S Pro. The phone will ship with 24GB of RAM, which is double the RAM count of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Thanks to that, you will get a smooth multitasking and gaming performance out of the phone. In comparison, the Red Magic 8 Pro came with a maximum of 16GB of RAM. Therefore, the new 8S Pro is set to provide a significant upgrade in terms of RAM capacity. However, nubia did not share any other details of the device. So, it is unclear whether the rest of the specs of the phone will be similar to the 8 Pro or not. Nubia RedMagic 8S Pro features a seventh-generation ultra-thin fingerprint scanner. Underneath, it is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC. The new chipset has a peak clock speed of 3.36GHz. Nubia has also equipped the device with a Red Core 2 chip to enhance gaming performance. The chipset pairs with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
