Nokia recently expanded its range of affordable “T” series tablets with the Nokia T21 - a 10.4-inch Tablet that promises to be a perfect companion for everyday home and office use. The Nokia T21 Tablet launch date in India is 17 January 2023. With Unisoc Tiger T612 (12 nm) chipset, 4GB RAM, and Android 12 OS, Nokia T21 appears to be a gadget designed for media consumption, durability and best-in-class everyday performance. The old Nokia T20 was replaced by this one. A brief comparison of the Nokia T21 and T20 reveals that this model also includes stereo speakers, a remarkable 8200mAh battery, and pen capability. The Nokia T21 is anticipated to cost 17,999 in India. If you're not sure if this is the tablet you should buy for daily use, read our in-depth Nokia T21 review in this post to learn more. Before we get to the Nokia T21 review, let’s take a quick look at the Nokia T21 tablet India version specifications and major pros & cons - Nokia T21 Specifications - A Quick Look Display 10.36 inch (26.31 cm) diagonal IPS LCD Display Features SGS Low Blue Light Certification, Brightness 360nits (typ.), Widevine L1 for Netflix HD support, Active pen support Camera Front camera:8 MP, FF Rear camera:8 MP Main AF Rear flash LED Platform Unisoc T612 Octa-core: 2 x A75 and 6 x A55 @ 1.8GHz Operating System Android™ 12 OS upgrades:2 OS upgrades Battery 8200mAh Non-Removable battery Up to 3-day battery life 18W fast charging support (PD3.0) Memory & Storage 4GB RAM, 64GB/128 GB Internal Storage Connectivity Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, USB Type-C (USB 2.0) OTG, WiFi:802.11 a/b/g/n/ac In-The-Box Accessories Charger(in some regions only), Quick Start Guide, Safety Booklet, Sim Pin, USB Type C Cable Nokia T21 Pros & Cons Pros Cons Sleek and Premium looking design 8200mAh battery providing up to 3-day battery life Offers almost near stock Android performance Lags in performance due to limited processor power Display not ideal for outdoor usage, weak contrast in sunlightNo Charger included in the box in some regions2k Display with higher pricing Quick Comparison between Nokia T21 vs Nokia T20 Parameters Nokia T21 Nokia T20 Display 10.4-inch IPS LCD, 360 nits (typ) display 10.4-inch IPS LCD, 400 nits (typ) display Platform Android 12 Unisoc Tiger T612 (12 nm) chipset Octa-core (2x1.8 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6x1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) Android 11 Unisoc T610 (12 nm) chipset Octa-core (2x1.8 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6x1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) Memory 64GB 4GB RAM, 128GB 4GB RAM 32GB 3GB RAM, 64GB 4GB RAM Camera 8 MP, AF with LED Flash 8 MP front camera 8 MP, AF with LED Flash 5 MP front camera Battery 8200 mAh with 18W wired charging 8200 mAh with 15W wired charging Price ₹17,999 ₹15,990.00 Nokia T21 Review Nokia T21 - Design and Built Charcoal grey aluminium finish IP52 rating MicroSD slot for expanding storage Nokia has standard parameters when it comes to designing its devices. They follow a straightforward, user-friendly, and robust design pattern and Nokia T21 is deviate from these basic rules. We are getting here a metal build body that looks solid along with the two-tone approach at the back. The camera module appears to be very similar to the Nokia X31. There are bezels of about 1cm that seem to be good enough to rest hands while long streaming hours or even other everyday usages. The tablet weighs a decent 466 grams and has a thickness of just 7.5 millimetres, which makes it a perfect hand-held bigger screen for both adults' and kids' user space. It definitely outperforms Amazon's Fire tablets in this area, with its all-aluminum body being a notable standout. It seems sturdy and should be able to handle the occasional drop without any trouble. Its IP52 rating will shield it against water and dust infiltration. Overall, Nokia T21 come with a solid build and doesn't display any immediate vulnerabilities in terms of design. Nokia T21 - Display 10.36in display 2K screen with 5:3 aspect ratio Stereo speakers with OZO software Rear is encased in metal Has a 3.5mm headphone jack Nokia T21 comes with a 10.4-inch diagonal IPS LCD display that promises a better landscape screen experience as compared to portrait. This also comes with a 2000x1200 pixel screen resolution for optimum display performance. And as mentioned above, Nokia is advertising scratch protection for the display glass. Moreover, the colour calibration is impressive. Being a budget smartphone, Nokia T21 has 2K IPS display with 60Hz Refresh rate, implies there is no high or fluctuating refresh rate. The peak brightness has decreased from the previous generation to 360 nits. Overall, this is a decent display for the price range. However, it is definitely a more indoor affair as contrast and brightness aren’t enough robust to take on the outside light. Even though not the widest in the world at this price range, Nokia T21 does provide some decent view angles. Other display features include a 5:3 ratio (~224 ppi density), 79.1% screen-to-body ratio, 307.9 cm2, Active pen support and Widevine L1 for Netflix HD support. Nokia T21 - Camera 8Mp front camera 8Mp rear camera Lacks many smartphone camera functions When it comes to the camera feature in a tablet, one thing that most users would agree that no one really purchases a tablet to take pictures. The use of a camera in a tablet is for video calls or gaming. The camera has an 8X zoom capability. However, applying anything more than 2X results in a fuzzy mess. In Nokia T21, we have an 8-megapixel camera on the front, which might not be great specification-wise for taking a selfie, but is perfect for video calls. The pleasant surprise is the LED flash accompanying the back camera which is another 8-megapixel sensor with an autofocus feature. Nokia T21 - Performance 4GB RAM 64GB or 128GB storage Unisoc T612 CPU Runs mostly ‘stock’ Android Nokia T21 is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T612 chipset. The CPU is 12 nanometers, which makes it the same CPU that has been used in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5-inch. Moreover, we're also getting 4GB of RAM and two variants of 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. There is also a micro SD card slot support, which is available on the same tray as the nano SIM. Looking at the spec sheet, it appears that Nokia T21 comes with some restrictions when it comes to heavy usage. Chances of noticing lags or delays during intensive activities or when multiple apps are open in the background appear to be high with Nokia T21. When it comes to benchmark results, Nokia T21 is exactly not a record breaker in any which way. Moreover, this is certainly not a gaming device, however, operating strictly within the kid’s tablet space, this can take the load of some simplistic kid’s games. Nokia T21 – Battery 8200mAh battery 18W charging supported, but no brick included Charges over USB-C The Nokia T21 tablet is packed with a huge 8200 mAh battery to support, as per Nokia’s claim, a maximum of 3 days of battery life with regular usage. The Nokia T21 supports 18W charging but comes with only a USB-C cable in the package. This is a commitment to the company's attempt to eliminate packaging waste. However, if you don't have a charger, it will be troublesome. The battery also claims to provide 800 full charging cycles. Nokia T21 – Software Android 12 Can be used as a second screen with Windows devices One of the most huge benefits of choosing a Nokia handset is that its software is virtually pure Android, therefore there are no significant UI variations for Google users. All of the applications are clearly set up, with almost no bloatware like what you'd see on rivals like Xiaomi. It also has a broader selection of apps than the Amazon Fire HD 10. The tablet comes pre-installed with Android 12. This isn't the most recent Google operating system, but Nokia has promised two OS updates and three years of monthly security patches, meaning it will ultimately have Android 13. Price and Availability The Nokia T21 Tablet launch date in India is 17 January 2023 and the tablet should be available online and offline now. The device can also be purchased with Nokia’s monthly Circular subscription, which includes part replacements and credit points for environmental causes. As for the price tag, the Nokia T21 price in India is expected to start from ₹17,999. Nokia is one of the leaders in the budget smartphone realm, so it's no surprise that the firm is hoping to corner the low-cost tablet market as well. Indeed, at £199, the Nokia T21 is a bit of a steal, even if it is £19 more expensive than the previous version. There aren't many rivals around at this price but the competition that does exist - Amazon's lineup of Fire tablets - is tough. The Amazon Fire HD 10 is its closest rival in terms of specs and price, it has a lower-resolution display than the T21 but is a lot cheaper. It costs either £150 or £160 if you want the version without lockscreen adverts. Samsung is the only other budget Android tablet maker of any great clout, with the Galaxy Tab A8 also costing £199. Like the Fire HD 10, the screen on this model is lower (1,920 × 1,200) but it uses a slightly faster Unisoc Tiger T618 CPU, which runs at 2GHz versus the Nokia T21's 1.8GHz. Nokia T21 Key Features Optional cellular connectivity With an optional SIM card tray, you can work and play wherever you like without a Wi-Fi network nearby. High-res display The 2K display is pretty impressive, especially at the Nokia T21's price point. Stock Android 12 Nokia is famed for providing an experience as close to stock Android as possible, and that's just as true with the Nokia T21. Verdict With the Nokia T21 release date being 17 January 2023, a well-informed decision about the Nokia T21 buy is what most users would prefer. To access a verdict, let’s quickly look at some of the pros and cons. The main pro will probably be the build and how user-friendly the device is. It has a nice design for a low-cost purchase. We also get 4G connectivity and unexpectedly good speakers. Overall, the device is solid for indoor streaming and everyday tasks. The battery support is decent and the rear camera has an LED flash which is something we don't see every day on a tablet. We also get a micro SD card slot, audio jack and stylus support to enhance the overall experience. The biggest con, on the other hand, is the poor brightness, which leaves no scope for outdoor usage. The charging is very slow and users will experience some lagging issues here and there. Overall, the speakers is designed for everyday regular usage, for home and office. Most suited for kids, this can be picked by any age group for light use.
