Galaxy S25 CAD files leaked last week (Image credit - Onleaks) The era of speculations, rumours and contradictory reports is finally here for the upcoming Galaxy S25. A few days ago leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra were all over the internet and just in a matter of days, questions have been raised on their accuracy. It turns out what we thought were leaked renders are basically CAD files with no real design detail. Here’s what we are hearing. A trusted and well-known tech news leaker Ice Universe took to China’s Weibo platform to compare these early depictions to CAD files. They highlight potential discrepancies. Ice Universe took to China’s Weibo platform to compare these early depictions to CAD files Ice Universe explained how the leaked CAD files only show the dimensions of the phone along with the basic layout. These files have no crucial design details including bezels, display features, or the earpiece. This makes them rather redundant and we cannot consider them actual design reveal. To explain this better in their report, Gizmochina shared a CAD file of the Galaxy S24 Plus for reference. These files show the front of the phone. However, they do not reveal any major design elements such as the textures on the camera and bezel sizes. These were revealed by another popular tipster OnLeaks along with a tech news portal. While they do give a general idea of the phone’s dimensions, they clearly do not reveal major details such as colour schemes and design elements. The actual bezel of Galaxy S25 is as shown in the Right picture, and the Left picture is wrong. pic.twitter.com/LFb8vMOlCf — ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) September 13, 2024 In a post on X (previously Twitter), Ice Universe specifically points out that the Galaxy S25 Ultra renders might not be entirely accurate. They also suggest that as per the leaked CAD files, the camera ring design seems very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and could be far way from the final S25 design. They also raised questions on other elements in the leaked CAD files including the antenna line placement and colour options, calling them “speculative.” This is a version in which I modified some details on the basis of Onleaks rendering. These featured a refined camera design, thinner bezels, and nearly invisible earpieces. It is important to note that these details were not clear in the original leaks of last week. FAQs What do the leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy S25 reveal? Answer. The leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra are based on CAD files that only show the dimensions and basic layout of the phones. They lack crucial design details such as bezels, display features, and earpieces, making them insufficient for a complete design reveal. Why are the leaked Galaxy S25 images inaccurate? The leaked CAD files of Galaxy S25 are considered speculative because they do not include major design elements like the camera ring design, antenna line placement, and colour options. Tech leaker Ice Universe pointed out that these elements might not reflect the final design and shared revised renders with more refined details. What are Galaxy S25 Rumoured Features ? If rumours are to be believed the Galaxy S25 series could use an Exynos chipset globally. However, this claim was challenged by some others who believe it will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. As per all previous reports around Galaxy S25, the Snapdragon option seems more likely. Leaked benchmarks have already indicated that it outperforms even Apple’s A18 Pro chip in a previous report. The Galaxy S25 clock speeds potentially reaching 4.32GHz is expected to offer lightning-fast performance. Samsung is also rumoured to update to 12GB RAM on the non-Ultra models. Meanwhile, the storage capacity starts from 128GB. The battery capacity is likely to stay at 4,000mAh. As per rumours, Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S25 in early January 2025. It will most likely be around January 13th as it would follow CES 2025. How is the rumoured design & display of the Galaxy S25 lineup ? While camera and performance upgrades are exciting, Samsung isn’t neglecting the physical aspects of its devices. The standard Galaxy S25 may feature a larger 6.36-inch display, up from 6.2 inches in the previous model. This increase in screen size could improve the viewing experience for videos, games, and everyday tasks. There’s also hope that Samsung will bring its Gorilla Glass Armor, currently exclusive to the S24 Ultra, to the entire S25 lineup. This advanced glass significantly reduces screen reflections, making the display easier to read in bright conditions. As we look forward to the Galaxy S25 series, it’s clear that Samsung is aiming to push the boundaries of what’s possible in a smartphone. With major improvements to cameras, processing power, and AI capabilities, the S25 lineup could set a new standard for flagship devices.
