Reports of the green line glitch have surfaced across a wide range of Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy A73, Galaxy M21, Galaxy M52 5G, Galaxy S22 series, and even the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Interestingly, many users claim that the issue appeared shortly after installing software updates, such as One UI 6.0 or the April 2024 security patch. One user reported noticing the line immediately after updating their Galaxy S21 FE, while another encountered it after installing the April patch on their Galaxy S21 Ultra. Some users have even started recording videos while installing updates on their phones, hoping to provide evidence that the issue, if it arises, was not caused by physical damage. While it's tempting to attribute the green line issue solely to software updates, a closer examination reveals that the problem might have a hardware component as well. The most likely culprit seems to be a faulty display connector or flex cable, which links the display to the phone's main circuit board. Any damage or looseness within these internal components can lead to display malfunctions. Potential Causes and Samsung's Response Samsung Galaxy Devices Face Green Line Display Issue After Updates One possible explanation for the correlation between software updates and the green line issue is that the updates, combined with environmental factors, might generate enough heat (especially on phones with Samsung's Exynos chipsets) to exacerbate or reveal pre-existing hardware defects within the display assembly. While Samsung has yet to officially acknowledge this issue, the company has offered repairs and replacements for similar problems experienced by Galaxy S20 series users in the past.
