Huawei plans to reintroduce 5G connectivity in the P70 series. The Kirin 9010 was initially trademarked in April 2021, signaling advanced technological strides. Huawei is gearing up to introduce its P70 series smartphones, potentially featuring the much-anticipated Kirin 9010 chipset. While the chipset's official announcement is still pending, there's significant buzz surrounding its capabilities and origins. Huawei P70 To Come with Kirin 9010 Huawei P70 To Come with Kirin 9010 Three years ago, leaks suggested that the Kirin 9010 would be a groundbreaking 3nm chip, potentially crafted by TSMC. However, due to trade restrictions imposed on Huawei, this collaboration seemed unlikely. Recent developments have shown Huawei using the Kirin 9006C chips in its laptops, believed to be manufactured by TSMC, but these were revealed to be from existing stockpiles. SMIC, another potential manufacturer, currently produces 7nm chips like the Kirin 9000 series, but their technology lags behind TSMC's 5nm node. Huawei P70 Series Set to Launch with Brand new Kirin 9010 Chipset There's speculation about SMIC's progress towards a 3nm node, but this advancement is likely several years away. The question now is whether the Kirin 9010 will indeed be a 3nm chip or if Huawei is rebranding an existing design due to the constraints of the trade embargoes. Huawei had initially planned to kickstart production in 2022 after registering the trademark in April 2021, but these plans were stalled by the challenging business environment and US restrictions. Apart from the processor, Huawei's P70 series is rumoured to mark the return of 5G connectivity. Huawei Plans to Reintroduce 5G Connectivity in the P70 Series Additionally, the P70 Art model is expected to feature a groundbreaking camera setup with a 1-inch type sensor and a high-quality 1G6P lens, indicating a significant leap in mobile photography. Huawei is also reportedly developing its own sensors, set to debut with the P70 series, which is anticipated to be unveiled in March.
