Post the launch of X21, Vivo has come up with its one of the most elegant, futuristic and brilliant smartphone till date which was introduced in the market by the name of Vivo NEX. The smartphone looks and feel gigantic on the first sight. The Vivo NEX boasts on the motorized sliding front camera module which comes out from top each time you wants to click a selfie. Here is the review for our dear readers to know about this new trendsetter from Vivo.
The new Vivo NEX in terms of look has an appealing look and aesthetic feel when held in the hands. Despites its big size the phone is easy to hold and operate thanks to the curvy body edges. The phone is not that light which is mainly because of its heavy composition but there is no issue in handling the phone or while carrying it around. The front fascia of the phone is completely dominated by the screen and the front camera is also not on the display which we mainly find in most of the smartphones. It uses screen soundcasting technology for the calls. The rear side of the phone has vertically placed dual camera sensors. The fingerprint sensor is on the display which we have previously seen in the Vivo X21. The new Vivo NEX has ditched the face unlock feature which is quite odd to see in phone of such flagship. At the left side of the phone lies a dedicated button to trigger Goggle Assistant. The right side of the phone has power button and the volume rockers. The bottom side of the phone is sporting Type-C charging port, hybrid SIM tray, and mono speaker. The top side of the phone is sporting the 3.5mm headphone jack and pop up selfie camera.
The new Vivo NEX has a huge 6.59 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. The fingerprint sensor has been embedded on the screen which is the NEX step towards innovation. The display is solely dedicated to the screen space with bezel less panel and with no notches. The phone has amazing resolution of 1080 x 2316 pixels. The display provides so much space that it feels like a mini tab with so much screen size. The screen is very well visible in sunlight as well and the contents could be seen very easily on screen due to the adaptive brightness feature of the phone.
The new Vivo NEX is loaded with sheer power which is provided by its latest powerful processor which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 8 octa-core and GPU Adreno 630. There is no application which the device cannot handle be its games multitasking and you can literally play two games at the same time by minimizing one and the device won’t get slow down even when the second game is running in the background. The device does not seem to get heated at any occasions and there is no lag in any applications. Vivo NEX has an impressive RAM size as well which is of 8GB and with such RAM you can take on any application and still your device will be at its normal state without even getting warmed up a bit. The RAM together with the processor is the perfect combination which you like to have in your phone. The ROM size of the phone is impressive as well which is of 128GB and with such internal storage you don’t need to expand your memory further but if you wish to expand then it could be done by sacrificing one of the SIM slot. The operating system of the Vivo NEX includes FunTouch OS v4.0 which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
The camera of the phone is one of the main attractant of the phone just like any other Vivo phone which is driving attention of the users towards itself. The selfie camera of the phone is something very innovative and have never been seen before which is like a robotic camera which automatically pops up from the top side of the phone and it looks really amazing. The selfie camera is of 8MP but don’t get confused by the megapixel size of the phone because the selfie camera has brilliant image delivering capacity. The selfies are extremely clear with crisp quality and there is no detail which seems to go missing while capturing the selfie. The selfie camera has an aperture of f/2.0 and also it has various modes to allow you to click selfies like Panorama, Face Beauty, Portrait and others. The selfie camera needs extra precaution because while going back the camera can take dust in the phone which will cause issues further. The dual rear camera sensors of the phone are of 12MP and 5MP respectively with an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.4. The images captured are extremely well detailed and there is no graining effect even when you zoom in. You can click images in different aspect ratio and can shoot videos in 4K quality as well.
The new Vivo NEX is full of power and it is evident in its battery as well which is of 4000mAh. The battery can last throughout the day easily with just a single charge. The phone has Dual Engine fast charging tech which boosts up the charging speed.
The Vivo NEX clearly scores on the innovation to break the monotony in the industry. The pop up front camera and the in-display fingerprint scanner combines to give a truly innovative and futuristic smartphone of 2018. It has huge display which is quite ambient and attractive, exceptional camera performances, great execution on top of a bigger battery power. The screen soundcasting could have been better and there’s scope for improvements in the in-display scanner as well. The only thing it has to worry about is the price. The Vivo NEX is available at Rs 44,990 and looks a much better option when compared to Oppo Find X at around 60K.
