Good Selfie Camera to Challenge The Mid-Segment

TECNO has become quite competitive in the Indian smartphone market as it’s pushing its smartphones continuously to remain a key player in the offline market. Under its Camon series, TECNO has unveiled number of smartphones such as Camon i Air and Camon i Sky to position itself among the buyers. The company had also tied up with King XI Punjab for the IPL 2018 to gain traction. In this review of ours we will be highlighting the various features of the latest Camon i Click from TECNO.

Design

TECNO has made the looks of Camon i Click very appealing with curvy edges and metal uni-body. The curvy edges of the phone are allowing better hold, making it comfortable to operate. The body of the phone has light weight as well allowing it to be easily carried. The front panel of the phone has the amazing display of 6 inch and top of display has the selfie camera along with the front LED flash. The back side of the phone is sporting the rear camera and LED flash both placed horizontally at the right top corner of the phone. The fingerprint sensor is also at the rear side placed within the easy reach of the fingers. At the right side of the phone lie the power button and volume rockers. The SIM tray which can carry dual SIM and a microSD card at a same time is lying at the right side as well. The left side and the top side of the phone remains clean nothing at their side. The bottom of the device is sporting microUSB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a speaker grille. The new Camon i Click has Face Unlock feaure as well which works fine and smooth.

Display

The new Camon i click has impressive display. The phone has full view display of 6 inch with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display has screen resolution of 720×1400 pixels. The 6 inch screen offers wide viewing angles and it is very hard to miss any detail. The 6 inch screen allows enough space to you to play games with much more comfort covering various areas which in small screen seems to be not available, basically meaning it gives that extra space to have more wide viewing angles. The display has smart features as well like adaptive brightness, eye care giving comfort to your eyes reducing the light stress produced by the screen. The screen has 2.5D curved glass which is guarding the screen from any damage.

Platform

The new Camon i Click is sporting power processor as well. The phone has 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 MTK6763 SoC processor with eight cores. The processor is very strong and it is quite evident from the touch screen of the device which is very smooth. The processor is capable of any handling any task and the same time maintaining the stability of the device. The RAM on board is of 4GB which can boost the processing of the device. The RAM size of the phone is another attracting feature of the phone because it is very rare to sport 4GB RAM in such price range. The RAM with processor allows you to play any games no matter what the requirements are of that game. The phone remains cool and stable even when it is put under heavy workload. The ROM size of the device is of 64GB and it can be expanded further with the help of dedicated microSD card slot. The new Camon i Click runs on Android 8.1 Oreo based on the custom cased Hi OS software.

Cameras

The name of the phone clearly gives the hint that what is the speciality in it. TECNO Camon i click is camera centric phone and its main attracting feature is the presence of 20 megapixel AI front camera with an aperture of f/2.and 0 with dual flash. The selfie camera delivers great quality of images in every situation and the dual LED front flash adds up to the advantage of the selfie camera making it capable of clicking clear selfies even when it is dark and lighting conditions are not favourable. The front camera has various modes as well like panorama mode, beauty mode etc. There were hardly any instances of the selfies showing any blur effect or graining in it. The rear camera of the Camon i Click is powerful and outstanding as well with 16 megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 capable of delivering clear, crystal and crisp images in every situation. The images captured are very well detailed and the colours of the images are well preserved as well. The rear camera has 4X flash support which allows the rear camera to cover a great area even when it is dark while clicking the pictures. The rear camera has various modes as well like super pixel, panorama, beauty mode etc.

Battery

The battery power is impressive as well of Camon i Click which is of 3,750mAh. The battery power allows you to have long hour of fun and entertainment and still there will be some battery left in the battery reservoir.  The charging speed provided by the phone’s original charger is moderate and it charges the battery quite quickly but not similar to that of fast charger.

Conclusion

As the name suggests, the TECNO Camon i Click boasts mainly on camera with a 20 MP AI lens, which did very well practically. The 4GB RAM helps the device to process much fast coupled with an octa-core MediaTek Helio processor. The OS too is on the latest front while the battery capabilities are equally competent enough in the market. Available at Rs 13,999, TECNO Camon i Click can be a good option to compete with ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 and Redmi Note 5 Pro.
