The new HTC U11+ is sticking to its previous design and has same mirror finish glossy body which we previously saw in HTC U Ultra and HTC U 11 which is distinguishing the device from other smartphones of same price range. HTC U 11+ has liquid surface and it is made primarily out of glass which is making the device attractive with high gloss. The curvy body design is making the device to hold comfortably despite its 6 inch display screen. The phone is not carrying much weight as well so you can carry it around easily. The placement of the fingerprint sensor is at the rear side above which lies the primary camera with dual LED flash as its companion. The phone has a metal band around it which houses the power button and the volume rockers on the right side of the device, while the left side is completely blank. At the top of the device lies the hybrid SIM tray alongside one of the four microphones that the phone has all around the body. At the bottom there is the USB Type C port along with the primary microphone, at the bottom there is a downward firing subwoofer. The phone has eliminated the 3.5mm headphone jack but has provided Type-C connector which can be plugged into the phone directly.

The display size of new HTC U11+ is sporting a 6 inch display with QuadHD resolution 1440×2880 pixels putting out close to 537 pixels per inch. HTC calls it Super LCD 6 and it supports the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut.  The display is vivid and has good viewing angles. Users can also switch to RGB output and tweak the colour temperature to suit their individual preferences. The display is amazing and gives every minute detail in crystal clear quality. The screen is guarded by layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection which protects the screen from any damage and endures high resistivity.

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.4 GHz which we previously saw in HTC U11. The power of this processor is combined with the powerful 6GB RAM which can take on any task without breaking a sweat. The phone due to its powerful processor and RAM runs smoothly no matter how big is the application size and its requirements. The gaming experience is soothing as well. Games like GTA, Asphalt, NFS all works without any issue. The new HTC U11+ also offers immense ROM size of 128 GB which is more than sufficient to store anything.

The new HTC U11+ has its Sense UI skin and runs it on top of Android Oreo. The phone has HTC’s Edge Sense technology and uses sensors present on the sides of the phone to respond when you squeeze them. This new amazing feature can be used to launch an app or call the assistant. One can also set two different actions for short and long squeezes. The new HTC U11+ in terms of having camera is very similar to its previous model HTC U11 which delighted us with its performance. The new HTC U11+ has the same 12 megapixel sensor with an f/1.7 aperture at the rear side. The sensor has big 1.4 micro pixels which help it capture more light in low light conditions. The images captured by the rear camera are delightful and justifies its worth of being in a high price ranged smartphone. There are various modes as well to allow you to capture shots in accordance to your preferences like Panorama, Hyperlapse, Slow Motion and Pro mode. The selfie camera is of 8 Megapixel which is loaded with exceptional low light capabilities, and super-fast capture ability.

The front camera though lacks the front LED flash which is quite disappointing to see. To cover the lack of front LED flash the screen acts a flash to emit the required light to capture selfies at night or in dark conditions. The phone focuses quickly and the adjustment of exposure while shooting is good as well. The new U11+ also records videos upto 4K quality. It has optical image stabilisation which eliminates shakes and delivers stable footage. The new U11+ allows you to recored 3D audio as well by utilising the four microphones on the device.

The battery power of the new HTC U11+ is impressive as well as it delivers 3,930 mAh power. The battery power is capable of lasting long and while testing it went throughout the day with a single charge. To charge up the battery the company has provided Quick Charge 3.0 which charges the device at a rapid pace. There was no issue of overheating while charging or using applications.

Other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluettoth 5, dual band Wi-Fi ac, NFC, GPS, GLONASS. The company has also improved the water and dust resistance rating from IP67 on the U11 to IP68 on the U11+.

The all new HTC U11+ is nothing short of its predecessor HTC U11. It retains most of the features such as the tempting Liquid Surface design which gives it a stunning looks but, also gives the fingerprint imprints at the back of it. The size is huge with 6-inches screen minus few bezels with heavy duty QS 835 chipset performance, good for gamers too. The cameras do get along very well like it did with U11. HTC has done a commendable job this time by pushing the battery power to 3,930 mAh which was only 3,000 mAh in HTC U11. The smartphone is available at around Rs 56,990 across channels and can be a worthy option if you can afford this masterpiece. You can also check Google Pixel 2 XL, Sony Xperia XZ Premium and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus for the options available.
