Redmi is all set to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 in India on June 16 at 1:30 PM IST. The smartphone will be unveiled through an online launch event, which will be streamed live on the company’s official social media channels and YouTube platform.
The handset is aimed at performance-focused users in the mid-range segment. While the device has already been introduced in China, Redmi has confirmed that the Indian version will feature some differences including a change in battery capacity. Here’s everything known so far about the upcoming smartphone.
Redmi Turbo 5 India Price (Expected)
Redmi has not officially disclosed the Indian pricing of the Turbo 5 yet. However, the smartphone debuted in China earlier this year with a starting price of CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs 30,000).
Based on its positioning and hardware, the Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to be priced below Rs 40,000 in India. As per reports, the device is likely to compete closely with the POCO X8 Pro, with which it shares several similarities.
The POCO X8 Pro currently starts at Rs 34,999. Since the Redmi Turbo 5 is confirmed to offer a larger battery, it could carry a slightly higher price tag. Industry expectations suggest the smartphone may launch at around Rs 36,000 for the base variant before offers and discounts.
Redmi Turbo 5 – Design and Colour Options

The design of the Redmi Turbo 5 is already known as the smartphone has been launched in China. It features a flat-frame design with a punch-hole display on the front.
At the rear, the handset sports two separate circular camera rings. The LED flash is positioned beside the upper camera ring, while Redmi branding is placed towards the bottom panel.
Redmi has teased the smartphone in White, Green and Black colour options. The company has also confirmed that the camera rings will feature integrated lighting effects that can display charging status, notifications, gaming alerts and music playback indicators.
Redmi Turbo 5 – Key Features

The Redmi Turbo 5 is confirmed to feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits. The display size is expected to be around 6.59 inches making it relatively compact compared to many devices in its segment.

Powering the smartphone will be the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. The device is expected to be available with up to 12GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Redmi has also confirmed the inclusion of a large 5,300mm² vapour chamber cooling system designed to manage heat during gaming and intensive workloads.
The Indian model will be equipped with a 7,540mAh battery with support for 100W HyperCharge technology. While this is marginally smaller than the 7,560mAh battery found on the Chinese version, the difference is unlikely to have any significant impact on real-world usage.
For photography, the handset will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with support for both optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS). The setup will be accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, the device is expected to offer a 20-megapixel selfie camera for self-portraits and video calls.
Other features are tipped to include an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, an IR blaster and a metal frame. The smartphone is also expected to come with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Based on the specifications revealed so far, the Redmi Turbo 5 appears to be a performance-focused smartphone with a strong emphasis on battery life and gaming capabilities. If Redmi manages to keep the pricing under Rs 40,000, the handset could emerge as a strong competitor in the segment.
With the launch now just days away, more official details regarding pricing and availability are expected to be revealed soon.
