Oppo has officially unveiled the Oppo Reno 15A 5G in select international markets. The new smartphone arrives as the successor to the Oppo Reno 13A and is currently available for pre-orders in Japan. Here are more details about the new device.

The Oppo Reno 15A 5G has been launched in Japan with a starting price of JPY 64,800 (approximately Rs. 38,000) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The higher-end model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at JPY 76,800 (around Rs. 45,000).

The smartphone is currently available for pre-order through the Oppo Japan online store.

Buyers can choose from three colour options, which are named Afterglow Pink, Aurora Blue and Twilight Navy.

Oppo Reno 15A 5G – Key Features

The Oppo Reno 15A 5G features a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,372 pixels. The 10-bit panel supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and offers up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness. Other display features include a pixel density of 397ppi, support for 1.07 billion colours, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 92.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Oppo also claims IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. The octa-core chipset consists of four efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz and four performance cores capable of reaching speeds of up to 2.2GHz. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 710 GPU. The device is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Notably, it is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs Android 16-based ColorOS 16.

For photography, the Oppo Reno 15A 5G features a triple-camera setup on the rear. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 112-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

On the front, it houses a 50-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 100-degree field of view. The handset supports video recording at up to 4K resolution at 30fps.

The device is backed by a 7,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging as well as 50W wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and a USB Type-C port.

The smartphone also comes equipped with several sensors including a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, e-compass, and an in-display fingerprint scanner for security.
