Oppo Working On Wide Foldable Phone

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Oppo is currently testing a new book-style foldable smartphone with a wider form factor. While the final marketing name remains unknown, it is unclear whether the device will launch as the Oppo Find N7 or carry a different branding.

The tipster claims that the engineering prototype features a foldable inner display measuring approximately 7.6 inches paired with a cover screen of around 5.5 inches. The display panels are reportedly being supplied by both Samsung Display (SDC) and BOE.

The foldable is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. The device is currently believed to be in the prototype testing phase.

In terms of design, Oppo is reportedly taking inspiration from Apple’s product aesthetics.
