This Valentine’s Day on February 14th, Xiaomi is all set launch its upcoming mid-range smartphone, which is much expected to be Redmi 5. The company has already commenced sending press invites that is scheduled to launch in New Delhi.
The company hasn’t said anything about the name of the device, but is speculated to launch the much-awaited Redmi 5 as the invite carries the same number. Xiaomi’s previous report claimed that they would launch the same product globally by the second half this month.
In last December, Xiaomi has launched Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China, which appears in two variants; The 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM variant is priced at 799 Yuan, which is approximately Rs 7,795, while the higher end 32GB ROM and 3GB RAM carries a price tag of 899 Yuan (approximately Rs 8,770)
Coming to specifications, the Redmi 5 sports a 12MP rear shooter and a 5MP selfie shooter equipped with LED flash for selfies and video chats. The conncectivity options on the phone include al SIM, 4G LTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a micro USB port.
Moreover, a fingerprint scanner is also placed on the rear end of the device for enhanced security. The phone sport a 5.7-inch display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels along with support for 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is backed by a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 450 chipset coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It is powered by 3200mAh battery and operates on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system with MIUI 9.
