Xiaomi launches standalone VR headset, 4K HDR Mi TV 4 at an event in China

Xiaomi has introduced a range of products at its official event in China that includes the first of its kind Mi VR Standalone headset and a new 4K HDR Mi TV 4. Xiaomi has launched the VR headset in association with Facebook’s Oculus.

This is the first standalone VR headset in the market, which means it does not require any external device like smartphone or computer to operate the same.  The new 4K HDR Mi TV 4 carries a price tag of 8,999 Yuan Rs 95,000 approximately. The VR headset appears in two storage variant; the base model 32GB storage is priced at 1,499 Yuan (approx. Rs 15,000), while the higher-end 64GB storage comes with a price tag of 1,799 Yuan (approx. Rs 19,000).

Along with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and 2K display, the VR headset sports a sophisticated LCD panel. Most importantly, the device is fueled by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 processor.

The Mi TV 4 is pre-loaded with Xiaomi’s own AI assistant, known as Xiao Ai and features a 75-inch 4K HDR Ultra HD display with a thickness of 11.4mm. The TV is powered by 64-bit A53 quad-core processor coupled with Mali-T830 GPU.
