It seems that Vivo has reduced a price cut on its newly launched premium phone, the Vivo V9. The phone was launched in India at price of Rs 22,990 coupled with a 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. A retailer based in Mumbai tweeted that the handset has a price slash of Rs 2000, which is accurate because the official website of Vivo is now selling the device at Rs 20,990.

Vivo is yet to provide official statement that whether the price cut is temporary or permanent. Experts are speculating that Vivo has announced this price because it is gearing up to launch the 6GB variant of Vivo V9 in India, which was launched in Indonesia a week back. Vivo is yet to offer an official statement that whether the 6GB variant will be available in other countries or not.

The 6GB variant is bit different from the standard 4GB variant of V9 in terms of specifications. The Vivo V9 6GB variant is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor rather than Snapdragon 626 chipset. For optics, the new variant appears with a dual rear camera; a combination of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. The front camera is furnished with a 12MP dual pixel sensor.
