The “nanocrystal” model used in this technology makes the display strong, thereby decreasing the ability to crack
The US-based firm AKHAN Semiconductor, which specializes in crafting next generation Nanocrystalline (NCD) based materials & devices has now announced to launch the world’s first diamond display smartphone in 2019.
Akhan seminconductor now has the task of developing all the essential technologies to make this display. The diamond display would be six times stronger and ten times harder than what’s currently on the market, reports Android Authority.
The upcoming technology is dubbed as Mirage Diamond Glass that utilizes the sturdy lab-grown diamonds in a “nanocrystal” model to make the display strong, thereby decreasing the ability to crack. It must be noted that the diamond glass could used with the current Gorilla Glass to protect the displays even further.
CNET reported that company’s close alliances are now testing and developing this technology. They are working to reduce the reflectance of the product so that it turns out to be easier for the user to use the phone in bright daylight.
