Panasonic has unveiled a new rugged handheld, known as the Toughbook FZ-T1 meant for enterprise customers including retail and hospitality, manufacturing, transportation and logistics.
In terms of the specs, the rugged handheld comes with a 5-inch HD display with features such as anti-reflective, glove and rain resistance. It is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor clocked at 1.1GHz with Adreno 304 GPU.
It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via a microSD card. There is an 8-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash. The device is backed by a 3,200mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo.
The Toughbook FZ-T1 comes with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810G certification, is FIPS140-2 level-1 compliant, and has built-in ARM TrustZone. It is topped with various connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, and A-GPS.
Additionally, the handheld supports 1D/2D Barcode Reader which can configure up to two users, and has Enterprise level security and manageability.
The Panasonic Toughbook FZ-T1 comes in two variants: Wi-Fi version (pried at Euros 1,142) and 4G variant (priced at Euros 1,214) and will be available starting August and September, respectively in Europe.
