Panasonic P101 with Big View display launched in India


Panasonic has unveiled a new budget smartphone, dubbed the Panasonic P101 in India. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 6,999 and is up for grabs exclusively via offline store Sangeetha Mobiles.

The main USP of the smartphone is the 5.45-inch Big View IPS display with 2.5D curved glass and an aspect ratio rated at 18:9, marking the company’s entry into the bezel-less bandwagon.

The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739WA processor clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM. The device comes equipped with 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a memory card.

On the camera front, the Panasonic P101 houses an 8-megapixel rear snapper with autofocus and LED flash, with the front-facing camera rated at 5-megapixel, also with LED flash. The smartphone gets its fuel from a 2,500mAh battery and runs Android 7.1 Nougat. The dual-SIM smartphone comes with various connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, OTG support, and FM radio.

Additionally, the Panasonic P101 supports Smart Gestures which allots different alphabets to various apps, for easy access by simply scribbling the alphabet on the display, and the Smart Actions for changing the phone mode to mute or snooze, make direct calls and double tap to wake-up screen.

Furthermore, on the purchase of the smartphone, customers will get an additional 60GB of data for new and existing Idea subscribers and an extra 10GB of data on recharge of Rs 199 plan.
